  1. 8 ball answer: ask again later
  2. I do think some of the angst will go away after the roster is full and he starts working on the next round of instate high school recruits.
  3. What about them? maybe they went to WV bc of assistants, similar to Ware and Oregon. Happens all the time.
  4. Bc they aren’t good enough and he didn’t ask. You want a SG that shoots 11% from 3? Or a bunch of role players that we can improve upon in the portal?
  5. It’s on the internet, it must be true.
  6. lol. That’s some hyperbole. Boosters need to start writing some bigger checks in year 1. None of this 8 mil NIL that Goodman said last week. We aren’t the top of the conference with 8 mil NIL we are middle of the pack NIL with that.
  7. Who else have they whiffed on?
  8. They will spend to get what’s needed. If they need an extra few hundred thousand or even a million to give them a roster they think will win the SEC and be final four worthy, they will find the money. There is no cap unless it’s self enforced.
  9. Predictable when he left for more visits unfortunately. Not bc it’s more visits, but who the other visits are with. Deep pockets.
  10. 7 days until players can’t enter the portal. Not 7 days to sign a team.
  11. I agree it’s worth overpaying in year 1 to get the talent needed for success. But don’t sleep on Enright, dude averaged 6 assists a game with the talent level of CJ Gunn around him. If we get a team of players that can score, he will be just fine.
  12. Maybe I misunderstood. I thought they were saying they wanted 4 year players not a 1 year guy, regardless of class.
  13. I don’t see the difference between a 4 year deal and a 1 year deal. The amount per year will be the same and it’s about winning. The idea boosters want kids to play by different rules at IU than other schools is dumb. But I also think Tucker DeVries probably got paid and he is a 1 year guy.
  14. The universities will have to recognize the players as employees at that point. It’s what they are actively trying to avoid.
  15. When you have billionaires funding it, that’s just 1% interest return for them for a year. It’s very sustainable.
  16. Finally. You said it was an opinion. Happy Sunday. Let’s get some recruits.
  17. Wrong. Your opinion. Where do you live if I may ask?
  18. How is it not a great place to sell a recruit? Hey come get out of the inner city to a place that provides safety and security and we will give you money that will actually go further than if you go to UCLA or St John’s. What you’re saying isn’t fact it’s your opinion that you are calling facts. Notre Dame is also in our state is always kills it in recruiting. And South Bend sucks compared to Bloomington.
  19. Weather. But I can visit weather.
  20. lol Kiddo! Thanks for thinking I’m much younger than I really am. I’ll be sure to tell my wife who wants me to dye my grey hair. lol. Indiana is a great place to live. It provides me with a good standard of living at a low price. Which then allows me to travel the world and have disposable income. I have friends who spent $1.5 mil on a 1200 sq ft home in the Bay Area in last couple years. Add in the crime and homelessness compared to Indiana, it’s not close. You may not like Indiana, but I love it here. People are friendly as well. Say hello to a random person in the Bay Area and they will think you’re trying to scam them. So I kindly say we will never agree on Indiana being a great state if you don’t like generally friendly people, low cost for standard of living.
  21. Hahah. Bc Cal Berkeley and Stanford are killing it in recruiting. You’re wrong on this one. Take the L and move on. And I’m saying that as someone from that area and chose to leave that cesspool and not go back. Indiana is a fantastic place to live.
  22. As someone from the SF Bay Area, Indiana is not a **** hole compared to that mess.
  23. DDV might think fans like you don’t have the juice. So the feelings could be mutual. I kid I kid. Happy Sunday all. Let’s get some commitments this weekend.
  24. It took Golden 3 years. First year was under .500 at Florida. Kelsey had a great turnaround as did Mayb at Michigan. But their own fan bases didn’t think the talent that was brought in at either school would lead to the success they had. It’s part of why I’m not stressing who we didn’t get. More interested in Who we do get and how it works. And we won’t know that for another month or so. Dusty didn’t have his first player until a week from now at Michigan in year 1. I just see no reason to panic or be doom and gloom or concerned at this point.
