  1. The system needs some tinkering for sure. My biggest concern is the exploitation of someone in their late teens and early twenties. The aau scene is terrible now, some are pretty upstanding but the majority are street agents.
  2. Considering Woody didn't know his name, this would be a giant add. In my head I can tell myself that Drew Adams is involved in this. Thanks for the tweet.
  3. I could see Willard dropping a bag on Luis to get up and running at Villanova. I think the young man will stay in the NE.
  4. Where did you see that. I know 2 weeks ago the Kansas boards were concerned but then 2 days ago he said he had no plans to leave.
  5. Sisley probably made a little cash then.
  6. Gillespie to IU.
  7. Concerned about only winning a share of one regular season MVC and the nature he lost his first round of the tournament games. He made the same mistake each time late in the games. I think if healthy he was potentially 4th in the Big 12 this year. If he's not Pope, Kelsey, Dusty year one or Will Wade good, I'll be a di(k about it.
  8. There's a world where we're a really good team with Sisley starting at the 4. If he's the 5th option doing all of the little things and being the connector that he's shown he can be. If we're talking about a true 4 out line-up it works.
  9. I would like to be in an either-or battle with Louisville on Isaac McNeely and Ryan Conwell. It appears they're in on each one of them, probably similar money.
  10. https://www.al.com/alabamabasketball/2025/03/73-phone-calls-and-counting-how-an-alabama-coach-handles-wild-transfer-portal-during-march-madness.html This is hopeful
  11. That's a good one.
  12. Rosemond - I hope Mike White has already called him? Walsh - Was done a disservice being promoted to the role of 3rd assistant and given the tri-state territory as his first gig. On his watch, he lost McNeeley, Mullins and Moreno. We all know it wasn't his fault. Ohio State seems likely. Hunter - He got his reputation years ago and had a track record in the NE working with bigs. The string of bigs he's associated with at Georgetown is impressive. He'll get a good gig. Cheaney - Doesn't want to be a bench coach. The recruiting and time away isn't in his plans. I'm not sure about Hulls. I anticipate an impressive staff that works as a unit and quickly set an identity.
  13. After settling into the idea that we have DD as our coach I think we'll be ok. I'm eager to see who the staff will be. I'm sure once we land our first portal recruit it will be one after another. We might be waiting until Alabama gets eliminated before our staff is announced though.
  14. The "3 Guys" podcast did say he had several names he knew of that would be likely targets when they hit the portal. They were referencing a conversation had with him over a month ago. I'm wondering if there are any portal agents starting to become power brokers already? Will it be a violation if a coach utilizes NIL to gain favor over other schools with said agents? Pay an agent under the table 1m to get his best pg and center.
  15. You know something that I gleaned from the "3 guys" podcast. DD had already formulated his off-season plan in terms of portal and knew in advance several players he was going to pursue long before the season had ended. That's interesting. To answer your question, I would be happy of course. But in college basketball the most important position on the court is PG and had he had Connor Enright instead of Javon Small I don't think they would've been as successful. Now he has 3x the money to work with.
  16. Well that works for me.
  17. Let me counter your question with one of my own. Do you think he's been in contact with more than Connor Enright?
  18. Do you think it will be on par with UK, Mich, U of L this past portal season?
  19. Which part? Lol Gillespie?
  20. I take it you heard the same thing about him having an offer from Diebler last year too?
  21. I have my hopes up for J'Kobi Gillespie. But you're right. Enright is a back-up 15mpg guy familiar with the system and someone to set the practice habits bar. If we march out a starting lineup with him in it, we hired the wrong coach.
  22. I expect nothing less than May, Pope, Kelsey results. If that's what we hired than that's what we should get.
  23. Amarrie Monroe from Quinnipiac is very interesting.
  24. Well that's good. That feels like an accountant positioned between the collectives, the AD and the recruiting staff.
