  1. If you told me I had to choose between Pope, Underwood and DeVries, I'd be excited to have DeVries.
  2. A 2y, 2nd year team option.
  3. I think it was called a Gumby
  4. Mgbako seems to have some intellectual shortcomings. I think he is dumber than a bag of hair actually.
  5. Stirtz family is a big time Kansas State family. He grew up wanting to play for them. That could be interesting to watch.
  6. I'm unfamiliar with how Coach DeVries delegates responsibilities within a staff. What does he specifically need? Is everybody doing it like UConn these days? I don't know.
  7. This will be exciting in a couple of weeks. We'll learn alot about our new staff. It's going to be interesting to see who he targets once the portal really breaks loose. I'm visualizing a roster similar to Iowa States the last two years. Hopefully he puts an emphasis on big, physical guards.
  8. Noah Williamson Bucknel 7 footer. I've not seen him play, but his numbers are impressive.
  9. I think Mike Lewis and Sherron Wilkerson would bring a lot to the team. Mike has a job though. I'm not sure Calbert wants the grind of being a bench coach. I may be mistaken. Hulls may feel the same.
  10. 93 years, 2 successful coaching hires, 28 we're good. Did we defy the odds this time?
  11. Coach Knight is a special case in the history of college basketball. 100 wins at 30 years old. 2 banners at 40 and 3 total by 48. He admired Iba, Newell, Bee, Taylor, and I'm sure learned from them but he was fully formed in his 30s. That's not something that's common and probably unlikely moving forward. Coach DeVries needs to be himself. You can always grow as a coach and he should be fine.
  12. Be happy for Brad. He makes 11+m living a dream. He's never been more successful.
  13. Someone got in his ear at overtime elite about his NIL value. He was a 6'6" wing in the 40's when he committed to Purdue and grew a little bit and played his way into a higher tax bracket. With Dybansta coming he might look to move.
  14. Connect with the patriarchs and well-ragarded high school coaches in the state. Win them over and you'll have all of the intel you need on the players to recruit in the area. Don't forget that's where your breads buttered and jump on the in-state 2027 group. A lot of talent there.
  15. I was just telling someone how much i was going to miss Frans antics. As long as you kept him away from the defensive end I'm on board. I really like the Desmond Brisco idea as well. I would go a step further and say Sherron Wilkerson as a #3 on the bench would be something to consider in terms of recruiting. Not to mention the big he has signed at Northwestern.
  16. If Stirtz doesn't have an agent, he should get one and D-ROCK should call him.
  17. Stirtz would be worth over a million then.
  18. I think before he signs his first transfer he'll have the opportunity to assemble an elite staff with the resources. That's step one. Young assistants that coach your offense can recruit talent. Get a young creative offensive mind that can identify the players that fit the system, a veteran you trust with a big ten background a guy familiar with the uniqueness of the state would hurt.
  19. Any comments on my avatar? I thought this racoon in a tuxedo jacket was adorable and I couldn't resist.
  20. We'll never know the names or the process details behind this. There will be Goodmans out there that will throw guesstimated facts out there but I don't think it matters does it?
  21. I've seen over 25 in my life and McDermott ran out of Iowa State. Just because this is going to be better than the last 10 years doesn't make it great. Massive NIL is a cross to carry and hopefully this is the guy that won't crumble under the weight of it. We get nastier each failure.
  22. I apologize for the offensive nature of my input today. I do enjoy this forum and many of the contributions made. They are thought provoking and often times encouraging. It's been my intention to not be insulting to anyone. I am a 50+ year fan and times have changed. Let's all hope for a Mullins flip. That would bring excitement to all.
  23. Last week when he was romancing Iowa? My list may not be your list but where does D-Rock from the legendary tree off McDermott slot in at. Izzo, Painter, Altman, May, Mussleman, Underwood, Collins,,,,, maybe here. I guess if he's Crean and doesn't alienate the people that can shut down the state and can get us in the tournament, and maybe get a team to the second weekend once, D-Rock will be ok.
  24. I'm sorry. Let's all welcome D-Rock. From the legendary coaching tree of Greg McDermott.
