Being heavily involved with religion definitely doesn't equal being morally good. I think thats one distinction some of us are kind of saying. Another is that pushing a specific flavor of religion onto others via peer pressure or team culture is not in line with the university's mission. If Drew is personally very religious, that's his choice and I support his freedom of choice. If he requires or influences the team unduly in anyway to follow his religious beliefs, then that's a problem. I have no idea if that's the case, just the arguments I'm seeing. The guy can coach though for sure. -

I think the point is that the compliance department turned it in in the first place as opposed to not handling it internally and/or not cooperating with the NCAA like all other high profile institutions have done that they end up investigating. I believe Dakich basically forced it to be that way. He was on a crusade that he's never stopped. -

This is the weird vibe I get as well. The way he talks down to his audience is gross since he's really become a gossip and rumor peddler and not a basketball guy. Since they got in bed with the Hysterics, he's been a character, not a journalist. Those guys are the Kardashians of Indiana basketball. -

That stripper isn’t really that into you either. I’m sorry, it’s been tough on all of us. -

When Rabby would talk about Braden Smith, he would talk about his defensive inefficiencies as a reason he might not be a top power conference recruit. I think Rabby is projecting his own change in thought onto everyone else. -

Alright, I misunderstood and mainly agree, on all accounts. We completely agree on Beard. -

So everyone who doesn't believe RTZ roots for the bad stuff? I want BS to be the coach, but I don't believe in 90% of what message board insiders say, no matter the message board. Especially when evidence and logic is to the contrary. No offense meant on that, but getting wrapped in unlikely conspiracies doesn't mean certain fans root for the bad stuff. -

Yeah he was. However, that was not the big narrative surrounding him prior to being the Indiana coach. Again, he was highly lauded by just about everyone when he was hired. -

Brad Stevens as an option is very good for me$$age board and blogger engagement. There will be Brad Stevens rumors by "insiders" in different spaces until a coach is named. -

Bob Knight supported the Archie hire, even. He was very highly thought of by coaches and basketball folks around the country before being hired at Indiana. It wasn't like Glass just panicked out of anxiety and picked Archie Miller out of a hat. He sucked while he was here, but he was thought of as near of a can't miss as has been out there. -

Rabby on any coaching candidate: maybe, but also maybe not (refuses to elaborate) -

I just joined on Peegs to see if there was anything additional there, there's not. The Paramount + sub sealed the decision for me, and I'll cancel at the end of March. -

HH cares much more about HH and serving themselves using Indiana Basketball than they do Indiana basketball. Rabby has evolved to a caricature of himself the past few years. There was a time he was an actual journalist. -

Some of that I agree with, but Kentucky has been decimated by injuries which is causing their slide, not coaching. -

We need to remember he was maybe the 5th preferred candidate after Louisville struck out and had to scramble a little. The same thing happened at Kentucky and they are having success so far as well. Resume, preparedness, and fit can all line up in strange ways. Like maybe if Tom Crean was at UCLA and Steve Alford were at Indiana, the fit works out for both of them when maybe they aren't great coaches at other places (complete made up hypothetical don't kill me for Tom Crean and Steve Alford references.) Maybe Cronin can kill it here but someone like Scott Drew can't. It doesn't always work out like on paper or internet message boards. -

I want to be happy at the end of next March, whoever the hire may be will get my belief and support. Indiana is like 10 time defending off-season champs, I can live with average highlights in the off-season if we can take care of winning basketball games. -

This is a Pat Kelsey/Mark Pope kind of hire than can work out. -

Archie never made an NCAA tournament. Every coach at ever power program will get fired for never making the tournament, Northwestern and Penn State ran through quite a few coaches that way. That's the hire and results that really sunk the reputation. No one expected Archie to fail like that. Absolutely no one. -

We don't need to win the press conference or the off-season. We need to win games. I feel confident we have many good options to get us to a floor of tournament team 9 out of 10 years, and several options that include ceilings of multiple B1G championships & final fours in a ten year span... options outside of Stevens May, and Beard even! -

My girlfriend goes to another school, too. Just giving you a hard time! When you said 24/7 I went right over there since I'm a member, and was a little confused by their board and nothing about Scott Drew could be found. I did see a few of their posters think Nates Oates is in play, and I didn't see one poster defending Chris Beard.
