  1. So your answer is no, you do have a couple debatable anecdotes though.
  2. Do you have any data to back up this claim. Emotions are a very important reason to make decisions. Steve Jobs relied on emotions to build a business. How you make people feel is as important as what you do. Considering emotions is essential to decision making processes.
  3. Do you have any data to back up this claim?
  4. Ckathy is displaying a ton of emotion here (pride being the largest), but hiding behind grammar and punctuation. People with insider knowledge don't only react and pass such sweeping judgement as Ckathy does. Furthermore, emotion is an important part of sports and fandom, sometimes it's the best part. To remove emotion is to remove humanity. Ckathy's continued projection of the fanbase being overly emotional continues to miss and ignore the passion and knowledge of the fanbase, which is part of what has made Indiana basketball special for 100 years. In 49 states it's just basketball.
  5. You're just being a dug in jerk who doesn't want to have to acknowledge Northwestern won the tie, plus continuing to ignore that Indiana finished 3 games behind and never actually was in contention with an all-timer and a first round pick. If you are picking 2023 as your standard for success at Indiana, you and I have different definitions of success for Indiana basketball.
  6. and a tie breaker made them 3rd and they were the 3 seed
  7. Is this your criteria and you are advocating for Archie Miller to get more years than 4 at Indiana?
  8. You can spin the 3 seed as much as you want. You can lob personal insults at me. Still, Indiana finished 3 games behind Purdue in a down big ten and got boat raced by Miami in the second round with an all-American and an nba first rounder.
  9. Cal left because he wasn't winning and Kentucky fans demanding winning games. The hired Mark Pope who is more proven at the collegiate level than Mike Woodson.
  10. Then why were they the 3 seed in the B1G tournament?
  11. It had nothing to do with an irrational fanbase running off a coach. That's just lies. Cal could have stayed, he's the one who started the drama and rumors of going to Arkansas. Barnhardt decided not to play that game. Plus, Cal hasn't been really good for awhile now.
  12. Indiana was 3 games behind the winner and technically was third and the 3 seed in the conference tournament. It took a little bit of a miracle run in the Big 10 tournament his first season to make the NCAA tournament. He's never gotten past the second round of the NCAA tournament. If he were coaching Iowa, not bad, he's basically Fran McCaffery though. That's not good enough for Indiana. The roster looks better this season for sure with a big influx of pay to play. I'm in wait and see mode, but like I said, I'll be cheering for him and IU. I just won't be holding my breath for a Big 10 championship.
  13. Mike Davis, Tom Crean, and Archie Miller were all fired by Indiana for losing too much. Mike Davis and Tom Crean were fired by their next schools as well and Archie is well on his way (21-42 in two seasons.) They are not good coaches and did not grow into being good coaches.
  14. I am in wait and see mode for my personal opinion on Mike Woodson as the Indiana basketball coach, and will be cheering my @$$ off for him and the Hoosiers this season. However, he's not proven to be able to contend for conference championships or final fours, which should be the expectation at Indiana with the resources that are available.
  15. Alum has nothing to do with it. Just. win. games. That's all that really matters. Money and opportunity attract top candidates. Coaches are smart enough to see the greatness of Mike Davis, Tom Crean, and Archie Miller post IU. Hiring is the problem. Indiana still has Indiana money and Indiana potential.
  16. Well yeah, but it's not the cause of the problem. The problem is poor hiring, not firing under achieving coaches.
  17. Yep, typo on the 5 but still, Archie Miller wasn't building anything and it was obvious. Mike Davis was not building anything and it was obvious. Tom Crean was constantly building, then having to rebuild a bad situation of his own making all while turning off recruits at the end with a Sweet 16 ceiling. So, are you saying that if we kept Mike Davis or Archie Miller longer then Indiana basketball would be better?
  18. Mike Davis got 6 seasons. Sampson got 1.5, but fired for reasons other than not winning enough Crean got 9 seasons. Miller got 5 seasons. Woodson is currently preparing for his 4th. Coaches are not being fired every 2-3 years. Coaches are being given opportunities to build a consistent winner, and none have so far since the year 2000.
  19. Aren't you one of most vocal of the fire Mike Woodson crowd?
  20. Woody had a rough 23024 season, but he has had the best off-season IU basketball has had in a long time. He has plenty of questions to answer but they all can be answered by winning. There are a few people that are too dug in too deep to probably ever acknowledge success if it happens, but eff em. Now if Indiana isn't top 3 in the Big 10, doesn't advance to the sweet 16, then his job should be questioned again. If Indiana places in the bottom half of the Big 10 and/or miss the tournament again, then sorry, we need a new coach. I'm here to support Mike Woodson and his roster improvement and his comments about playing a more modern version of college basketball (even though I was vocal we should go after Bruce Pearl.)
  21. He's the second best coach in their history. He's staying as long as he wants.
  22. Well the reasons are USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington. I'd have no problems with a rotation of something like Indy, Chicago, New York/DC/Vegas. Maybe not Seattle, Portland, or LA but if they rotate back to the Midwest every 2 of 3 years given the current conference geography, I'm good.
  23. This is just the lazy journalist taking no risks and going with "top returners" plus the top transfer who was a P5 first team all-conference selection last year to get content out. Plenty of transfers and top freshman to choose from with more talent.
  24. This was my first reaction, the Hysterics are putting part of a story out there knowing exactly how it will be responded to, but keeping the relevant details that make it explainable out... again. Why are these guys the anti-Finebaum for Alabama?
