  1. This is partly my fault today. VPN is down at work, and I have nothing better to do but check the internet for Indiana basketball news. I keep engaging because it's fun, and I'm probably making a bigger mess than needed. You are correct, however.
  2. If you weren't so combative and emotional, I would trust you to share my extended professional CV. If you found my Indiana fandom cred interesting, my pro resume would blow your mind.
  3. Responding with outward emotion now with calling me Patsy and my 50 years as an Indiana fan short term. That's a visceral response from you.
  4. I think what we have all debunked today is any notion that KCathy has any insider knowledge, and only emotional attachment to the old guard that is now failing over and over again while unwilling to make any changes.
  5. So you've just been a fan for a long time. Congrats?
  6. This includes you not knowing either.
  7. That was me Cashy. I grew up an Indiana fan and have seen Isiah in person wearing candy stripe warmups. Playing for Knight is one of my favorite books of all time. I have sweated, cried tears of joy and failure in an Indiana lockerroom. I have spent all day in the Library studying in the stacks to get an A in a Psychology class and fought back tears on the steps outside Woodburn because I failed a physics exam that I also studied for (eventually I got it!). I partied every weekday night for Little 5 week despite waking up nauseous everyday and saying, "I am not going out tonight." I have been to NCAA competitions cheering the Hoosiers for numerous sports for men and women since my time in Bloomington was up. My kids have now seen my photos on the wall, and are Hoosier fans themselves. I am an Indiana Hoosier through and through. What's your street cred?
  8. to publicly identify or publish private information about (someone) especially as a form of punishment or revenge.
  9. You are here on an anonymous internet forum asking for my personal information. That screams personal, visceral, and emotional reaction
  10. Goode is the guy that should be called out the least, too.
  11. There is no reason to keep him now. I haven't seen one good reason given to keep him now that isn't emotional attachment or sunken cost fallacy.
  12. Also, Woodson has not fared well in B1G play as a coach. He's been an objective failure. An interim solution may provide some salvageable momentum for the team, program, athletic department, university, and fanbase. I see no good reasons to keep him at this point.
  13. Cashy is providing some great entertainment for me on a day where the work VPN is down. The process is perfect, but also mostly it's been bad hires Every argument Cashy doesn't like is only emotional
  14. Bob Knight would not succeed at Indiana University as the basketball coach in 2025. Am I talking to an old man yelling at the moon?
  15. How Bob Knight was hired is not relevant. That was over 50 years ago. It's like saying how George Levis was hired is relevant to how Bob Knight was hired. Is how George Levis hired also relevant to this current situation? Are we using the transitive property for hiring processes that are a half century old?
  16. There have been several but you are here to argue in bad faith with an agenda to protect certain people, not the university and basketball program.
  17. I was an Indiana athlete, I worked in the athletic office, I was a college coach at other universities, I have friends and former teammates that are currently college coaches at major universities including Indiana University. I have a very clear picture.
  18. We need to make him a strong @$$ offer
  19. Dakich might be accurate with this take, but he is also wildly inaccurate, and agenda driven for many others. It's 9 o'clock twice a day no matter what.
  20. Now, here come the outright lies. Bob Knight was hired before any current processes and people were put into place. Also, a single data point is not conclusive evidence. Citing Bob Knight is an appeal to emotion in this argument. By saying that the process is the same that hired Bob Knight, you have completely outed yourself as not an insider. You are another anonymous internet troll with opinions and agendas.
  21. I didn't make a claim either way because I don't have the data. However, let's go back to your original claim that an interim coach would only make the season worse because interim coaches largely make it worse. Let's not move the goalposts to interim coaches are not long term successes, which is a completely different argument. Moving the goalposts is a logical fallacy often used in place of facts, logic, or evidence in order to win an argument because of an emotional stake in the argument. It's bad process. Anyway: EddyO (thanks for doing my work for me) Diebler last season at OSU Now, I have as many anecdotal pieces of "evidence" that you do. Interim coaches can change the fortunes of a single season and it has happened numerous times. Interim coaches often improve the fortunes of a team for a single season while also not being retained for long term employment. In fact, that could be considered good process.
  22. Interim coaches have worked as many times as the short numbers of examples you've given that haven't. You have no conclusive data and only anecdotes that fail to consider the larger picture. Where is the data? Do you know what conclusive data is? Also, EddyO won a national title and is a beloved figure by LSU nation.
  23. Cashy is a classic internet Machiavellian troll: seemingly above the fray (but really is the fray) and knowledgeable (but without any specifics and only a general and broad reactionary to elicit a response). This board's finest of the sort. I'm more of a regular over at HSN than here, but surfing around for the tidbits of a rumors and news today. This person is a pro at what they do: troll while maintianing an effort to appear intellectually honest. Otherwise, Cashy wouldn't respond to emotional responses him/herself.
