Mixed feelings at the half. We played with good energy on both ends of the floor. However, too many defensive lapses lead to 44 first half Nebraska points. Offensively, we took and hit three-point shots. We also played with a lot of energy. I felt that we took too many quick shots. If the break isn't there, we need to work for good look and just not the first look.

That's simple enough to implement. Each conference should have a conference tournament. Then only the conference tournament winners play in the NCAA Tourney. That way everyone was in.
-
Why can't they just leave the Tournament alone? It's fine as it is. I'm already losing interest in college basketball with free agency and NIL. Adding teams to the NCAA Tournament might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back for me.

They both seem like good young men who have positive attitudes. The ability to improve is there and there seems to be a willingness to defend. However, I'm not sure they can play together against good teams if our goal is to be a great defensive unit. -

The state if Minnesota has produced a lot of good basketball players over the last several years. Unfortunately, they haven't been able to get the best players to stay home and play at Minnesota. -

This is one of the few Big Ten games that we can win by just having more talent than our opponent. Minnesota does not impress me. I expect a double-digit win. -
Brass Cannon can speak for himself, but I think you are reading way too much into it. I don't think he was calling Woodson a drunk. He was comparing Cignetti doing the extremely difficult (climbing Everest) to Woodson having difficulty doing something that should be easy, and he used the example of a drunk person stepping over the curb.
-
I don't think being drunk was the emphasis here. I believe getting over a curb versus Everest was the point being made.

Cubs fan here. I'm interested what they will do this off-season. However, I'm not very optimistic about real improvement. I have zero faith in Jed Hoyer making the right decisions. Cubs need to upgrade catcher, third base, and the bullpen. Hoyer hates spending real money on the bullpen and I'm concerned he's unwilling to admit Paredes was a mistake and going stick with him this off-season.
-
My biggest concern is that the expectations for Woodson's continued employment are so low that we'll have to continue suffering his mediocrity. There seems to be enough IU fans (and donors) that are content with finishing in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten and barely making the NCAA Tournament. Based on our talent, I expect IU to finish at least top 4 in the new 18 team Big Ten; be ranked in the top 12-15 nationally; get no worse than a 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament; and make the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. If Woodson fails to meet these goals, we need a coaching change.
-
I don't believe that Woodson is the right guy, but I can't root against us. I'll root for IU and hope that I'm wrong about Woodson or that our talent is good enough to overcome his deficiencies. If Woodson loses winnable games or get beats soundly by similar talent, I'll continue to add my voice to the Fire Woodson chorus.
