I am surprised that Woodson pulls his players after two fouls because his college coach never did that.

I see the starters being Rice Carlyle MM Reneau Ballo I see after 5 minutes bringing in Tucker or Goode for Ballo and moving MM to the 4. Later you bring Ballo back in for Reneau and bring in Tucker or Goode for MM.

Now it they can stop giving out pass outs it might keep more in the stadium.

In the past that was the best way to get in the tournament but last year the big 12 showed that isn't the case. Have your teams play some very bad teams and blow them out to help your metrics. On the radio today Osterman thought that is what IU is trying to do. He also said that the teams we scheduled at a higher caliber than what other teams did in the Big 12 did.

I just saw UK's non conference schedule. 9 home games with no power conference teams. 3 neutral games Gonzaga, Ohio St, Duke 1 road game Clemson Sec/ACC challenge. Those last 4 games were all pre determined so Pope had no say in those games so it will be interested to see how they schedule in the future

Type of schedule that a lot of teams are doing now of days. Iowa St last year had a very weak ooc schedule and turned it into a 2 seed. You play a lot of games like this and blow them out to better tie metrics. Everybody talks about how good of a coach the Iowa St coach is but is it a bi product of the schedule.

Let me ask this question to everyone who is complaining about the schedule. If we had fired Woodson and brought in Pearl or Dusty and revealed this same schedule would you still be complaining. My guess would you would not be complaining. I feel your hatred for Woodson blinds all of you and try to find anything to bash the man.

Indy has been the Sports Capital of the country since the 80's. Started with hosting the Pan Am games. The city d cided back in the mid 80's to really put effort in making Indy a huge sports city and put a host committee together that is better than anyone.

I think this comment from the article is spir on. We suspect that’s in part due to a vocal minority of Hoosier fans who aren’t happy with anything Woodson touches right now. Only winning will solve that.

When I look at the schedule strength I look more at the middle and bottom teams on the schedule. This schedule might not have the elite teams but also don't have many bottom tier teams. It isn't like we are playing a bunch of SWAC or MEAC schools who play all of their non con games on the road. Just look at the Big 12 last year where a lot of their teams scheduled this way. Not only does it help the individual teams metrics but the conference as a whole.

Do I think it is really good schedule no but I don't think it is bad either. I would say it is an average schedule that looks like a lot of power 5 teams schedule. No I don't think we dumb down the schedule because of the coaches abilities.

So coaches can't win either way because if you schedule better teams and lose they get roasted. You play a soft schedule but win you get roasted. It is obvious that that at least last year the committee put more emphasis on the metrics and rewarded beating bad teams by a lot. You shouldn't blame the coaches for taking taking advantage of this. The pressure on coaches to make the tournament is so great they will do what it takes to get in.

Actually I just watched the UK game from that year a couple of weeks ago and that UK wasn't anything special. It had a freshman in Rex Chapman and just average players beyond that including James Blackmon. To me the SC game is the on par with that Vandy game and the other 3 is no better than the Bahamas games. Like I said it isn't a great schedule but not as bad as some of you want to make it.

Last year a team like Iowa St. Schedule almost all cupcakes and blew those teams out. They were rewarded a high seed so the committed shows that is the way to schedule

Just for reference this s was our non conference schedule in 1986-87 season. Montana State I was at that game ND UK Vandy UNC Wilmington E. Carolina Morehead State UL Princeton Illinois State Don't look that much different than this coming year. Also back then we had 4 pretty much guarantee wins in the conference vs UW and NW I get it a lot hate Woodson and will bash him on everything even if I t isn't warranted.

Is it a great schedule no but it isn't as bad as some of you are making it.

Even under RMK we would play 4 easy teams for the most part in the Hoosier and Indiana classics. We would always play UK and ND and another top team. Then we would play a couple more against MAC level teams

It really isn't that soft of a schedule. You got 4 games against really good competition. You have two that is bad with teams 290+ and the rest are against teams 100-200.

I guess reading is a problem for you because I said I did a lot of stupid things during the season. My problem I wrote those and hit send right after the game. If I could just have waited and calmed down I wouldn't have ever sent those emails. It was stupid and worthless to do so.
