  1. Sorry for talking about he who shall not be named in the General Coach Candidate News. Any other names not allowed?
  2. Nothing new, got you. What's current?
  3. Haha. I went down a dangerous path last night, as some of you may recall I posted on Chris Beard's weird X following/follower list several days ago. There was one notorious Indiana-based realtor who has recently followed Beard. I've also searched various others, such as Ben McCollum. I can say with [low confidence] based on X analysis that Ben McCollum will be the next Texas Tech Red Raider HC. Would also like to predict that Adam Howard will be joining one of McCollum or Beard next season. Speculation!
  4. @RoadToZion What's up Big Z, talk to us

  6. I've actually heard Walt is pre-occupied, donors telling me we've moved onto a fella named Josheph McCarthy
  7. I'm not a Woodson apologist, but would rather keep him and give him a $1M raise than Brownell
  8. Will Warren on X: "Here's a higher-quality version not recorded on our bedroom TV for those interested (cc @NWBearcatMBB, @SportsCenter). The team is Northwest Missouri, the coach is Ben McCollum (@CoachMcCollum), and the Bearcats are 158-8 in their last five seasons of play https://t.co/NJFBMmn37d" / X Coach Ben
  9. Brownell would be a great hire.. for the Purple Aces

  11. I’m not a money guy either, but if someone is offering a chance at generational wealth to do the same job I’m currently doing I’m taking it without hesitation
  12. $4-6M worth of interest
  13. Great opportunity for a Dusty May analogy along that line of thinking. Absolutely agree about a GM & support staff as a whole. Get a few connected with recruiting in key positions, especially within the state, and the HC inexperience is mitigated. Dude wins on the court, if he can get a great staff for recruiting it’s off to the races
  14. 7:30 tomorrow! I'm gonna wear you out Easy E. https://youtube.com/shorts/Nt2BqKe65w8?si=UpgTwf75FLAKWkWs
  15. Reasonable post. I agree with all above. Cronin, lower floor. McCollum, higher ceiling. Thanks
  16. So, you recruit HS kids? If so, you spend time telling them about your Great former players to entice them further? Do you show the "recruits" your illustrious hardware from conference championships? If so, have they ever said, "That's awesome coach, but why don't you have any Metropolitan Conference trophies?" Just curiosity if that's your style, as you've alluded to. Certified Sunshine Pumper stated it well: a great HC talks about how they can develop said recruit in their game and as a man. And as a former coach, player, and parent myself, I'd have to agree with CSP - much easier to sell a recruit based on merit than a show-n-tell of "rings" as you say. Just an unsubstantial post from an angry, agenda-based contributor. Would it not be easier to disagree silently, or if you have to speak up against Mccollum - use some sort of statistical/data logic instead. We all have the same end-state goal on this board: IU to hang a banner.
  17. I see your point, and thanks for articulating your viewpoint without being dismissive toward an opposing viewpoint.
  18. McCollum had a great video posted in here yesterday about recruiting good players w/ good personality traits. I do not care about 5 stars, we've went the MM (taco), Romeo, Ware, JBJ route. How did that go? More Gallo/Goode/Leal and less paper-tiger 5* guys. This mindset has won IU the offseason countless times in the last decade and a half, and I used to fall for it as well. Give me the in-season wins personally, but you can root for the off-season accolades if you want. Proof is in the pudding: .909% Win percentage (D1 only). 2013-2024 in D2 he lost a total of 24 games, now only has 3 losses in D1. I'm a Brad Stevens guy, but if not him or TJO, Mccollum is enticing. A coach who has won at nowhere schools, with nobody players, coupled with IU's large NIL, heritage, and notoriety spells success to me. .909% Win percentage (D1), 3-0 v P5
  19. What makes you think that? Is this also if IU were to offer? Doubt he passes on 4x salary to stay as a Bulldog.
  20. Agenda based posters. Ignore, here for substantial conversation. Too many emotional posters
  21. IU has top 5, top 10 at worst NIL. Counting on a seasoned support staff, but you can't teach the trait of being a winner. I get it, you'd rather have a guy with 10 year's experience and has made the tourney 60% of the time. I want the next great thing - and by all measures he looks that way. Btw to counter your ignorant point about "I coached him or him", didn't Cig say something to the effect of "Google me, I win"?
  22. In 3 games v P5 for Mccollum: 80pts, 81 pts, 73pts. The narrative of miserable offense isn't accurate, might not be the Hurryin' Hoosiers tempo but you don't score 80+ with an Off. system as has been described here
  23. It took me an hour to read today's messages. A few good shots at the naysayers, good information, baseless arguments, and a few who have visibly committed to hating anyone advocating for Brad S or Ben M. On McCollum: All he has ever done is win. Regardless of level, he wins. How you gonna hate on that? It's IU - sells itself, even Archie got high level recruits here. .909% Win percentage (D1 only). 2013-2024 in D2 he lost a total of 24 games, now only has 3 losses in D1. For a fanbase who has experienced the Cig effect, you'd think the concept of hiring is much easier now: Get a guy who wins
