Unfortunately, I have seen this similar scenario play out for over 60 years. Just like all the lateral to lower level MAC type recruiting with all the excitement of hope and dreams…this and that player/s are going to take IU football to the promised land (some temporary success once in a while) the coaching eras end up eerily similarly the same. And now another short era comes to an end (wondering if player/s almost thinking boycott or probably transfer elsewhere) and a new probably short coaching era will begin. Since 1887 It’s IU MAC conference football playing in what will now become a more competitive Big Ten conference. IU’s best hope is once 18 to 20 teams get into the Big Ten is to break football into 2 conferences like the top half of teams called the Big Ten Conference and the other lower half of teams called the Little Ten Conference. Then, though nothing really changed on who is the best but everyone could feel a little better. The lower teams in the top half what would be the Big Ten could rise to the top once in a while. The lower half what would be the Little Ten could have a more equal win distribution. It’s a better feeling already. Criteria could be set up for a Little Ten team to move into Big Ten and Big Ten team move into Little Ten based on performance over a given period of time.

The best thing for T.A. Just like Bill Lynch but 20 million more so than Lynch is for him to get fired. After hurt ego and some recovery time T.A. will have at his discretion several options and opportunities. Not as much money but still solid money and once he transitions into a more suitable position for himself he and his family will be so much happier. Regardless, of whose fault even if he takes some time off he will be out of the pressure cooker and into a fresh start still making a couple hundred thousand per year unless he goes back to high school level….More than likely smaller college (A college like Indiana State would pay him a couple hundred thousand as head coach) or a few hundred thousand for a defensive assistant/coordinator on a more major program would pay him a few hundred thousand. Life is so tough sometimes Lol.

I would not be surprised if Sidney Parrish plays at All American level this year. (she was good already but a big time sleeper player in my opinion that it will all come together for her)

Always kind of wondered what LEO means other than love every one. (It has really worked well for T.A.financially). How much does it really mean??? Enough for a refund or at least a partial refund for job performance???LOL. Sidenote: I get Bob Knight earned most of his money in a large variety of ways…..However, Bob Knight supposedly declined Texas Tech salary one year for poor job performance. At IU Knight salary was in the below or around a couple hundred thousand dollars per year. (times have changed) Is that true LEO???

Post Game T.A. Well Rutgers one of the best in big. We are still playing for a bowl game. Just have to play more sound football and we made some plays but to many mistakes….make less mistakes. LEO IU football has transgressed back to Bill Lynch short era. Team May hold up in MAC. Not power 5.

Not just games but after last season, spring ball, summer, preseason, and a third of 2023 season Walt Bell was very costly and T.A. inability indecisive decision making carryover into and during season = more losses than wins.

What is game attendance today 1250 to 1300. Counting the Band and the Red Steppers and families 2000. Including broadcast booth and parking attendants and concession ticket workers and maintenance maybe etc 2200 plus Fish and Sidekick 2102. How many more were at Hoosier Hysteria?

Watching IU Ladies hysteria thinking about 10 years ago and how T. Moren stuck her name in the hat and IU Fred Glass played the Hoosier lottery and won.

A couple of IU Ladies recruiting prospects have made visits to the west coast recently which was on their schedules which includes UCLA. UCLA is one of the top teams in the country but I think they averaged less than 3,000 attendance per game last year at home.

IU Ladies have more confident fun swagger as they follow their coach T. Moren. No protective knee gear for IU Ladies. Good sign.

“Close to the point where guys are just waiting for portal season”….wrong…..they were not close to waiting….but were already implementing transfer portal season as 2 or 3 years ago as evidenced by lineman and QB transfers from IU to other programs. However, it is true the players this season are continuing into what is fast becoming a new IU football tradition of losing some of IU’s best players to transfer and trying to replace them with lateral or lesser talented players…..need to change this immediately before it becomes an entrenched tradition.

IU has a real shot to win this one. Only a 5 point underdog..

Sidenote: not wanting this, however as QBs go in T.A. era it’s been a dangerous position. He commits to one QB and if a ding or something a little more happens (maybe even in quarter one) then plan is out the door because the other qb will play…if he wants to.

Emotional psych. I suppose no matter how much money one makes….losing and losing to the point of not really being competitive at the level of competition required….eventually takes its toll mentally and emotionally and physically to the point not only is the team and individual psychic is amidst in confusion and chaos…but the head coach psychic is also amidst in hopelessness grinding out his contract with assistant coaches in the balance of do I stay or keep my eyes open and focus for future opportunities as time marches on to the next IU football coaching era.
