  1. Some things are obvious ticket sales, fans, donor support, merchandise, etc etc but how do you measure the IU brand impact financially and the significance of Whitten, Dolson (he talked about blueprint in making this hire….where was the blueprints in making other hires rather than pulling them out of one’s backside lol…,or since it has worked so well now you had a blueprint…remember that on future hires. And then the major main significance of Cignetti, his family, coaching staff, support staff and all others involved….back to the main point….the financial significance of the IU brand led by coach Cignetti….. measuring stick.
  2. I don’t disagree. But the focus is on football now rather than wishing just get the football season over with so basketball season can start (accept basketball has become dismissal seasons as well). Now, the last season and a half football is setting a bar to which basketball season can be measured against and it just so happens at the beginning of the school year. as Pagoda points out.
  3. Another thing has changed in Bloomington. Unlike in most (almost all) past years during this time of year in October hardly anyone is so excited, anxious or so looking forward to basketball season. Basketball season can wait.
  4. I doubt it Cig would be any more successful than Franklin at Pent State if it all washed out. What’s an elite program? If in the decade Coach takes IU into eliteness wouldn’t IU be young elite program?
  5. I agree. Actually, this has to be gratifying, very gratifying in being in the group of the happiest coaches, staff, players, and others involved (excluding exception/s…..isn’t there always exception/s….hard to find) in football land across the country.
  6. If IU coach would leave IU for a traditional elite program I would predict he averages 7, 8 or maybe it would be a stretch to 9 wins definitely not the level he is currently at IU (nor is he going to continue at a 16-2 clip at IU but he will go out finally as a high percentage winning coach at IU) for several reasons….just brainstorming a list of reasons.
  7. I imagine a lot of players want to play for IU in football program….Now….NIL???…. It’s ‘Happy Limestone Quarry’
  8. 8 win floor…. Try above 500 ball…6 or 7 win floor.
  9. Regarding IU football, has it crossed anyone’s mind that the world may be coming to an end? Regarding IU coach….at a certain point grass is not always greener elsewhere….it’s a risk and what kind of reward do you get….especially when you fixed it at IU and it is never going to break until you are finished with a pretty healthy legacy to be left behind in its own right. Why jump into a pressure cooker when life is happy land and it’s not like you are living in poverty monetarily and non monetarily.
  10. James Franklin is just going to take a swan dive into his big pile of buyout money and roll around in celebration. Coaches with a truckload of buyout money just lose every game and retire Lol.
  11. He emphasized it again by commenting on big wins at Elon and JMU in post game IU interview.
  12. Oregon win one game closer to 12-0 regular season.
  13. That Iowa win looks like a pretty big win not that far behind Oregon though Oregon was a bigger win than Iowa win but Iowa was not far behind. IU through much difficulty at Iowa put themselves in a position to win and they did. Iowa 37 Wisky 0
  14. “I Win”. The most true words I have heard in a very long time.
  15. Cignetti in post game interview…..what stood out to me the most was when he addressed how big the Oregon win was. He stated it was a big win and said he had a couple wins at his last place that he coached that were equal to this win…..kinda sounds like something Bob Knight would say….and to me it’s a statement of remembering where he came from in honor of those players, coaches and others involved in those programs…..Pure class.
  16. IU needs practice taking a knee at end of games….weakest part of their game…..so Mendoza doesn’t get hurt or fumble the ball.
  17. That first down call that favored IU makes up for about a third of the calls that went against IU.
  18. Been waiting the whole game for an Oregon turnover.
  19. See if Oregon defense will wear down if IU can make 3 first downs.
  20. Gift. IU qb confidence and rest of offense vs fired up Oregon defense.
  21. IU defense reminds me of some of Saban Alabama defenses a few years ago the way they have pursuit to the ball.
  22. Oregon defense looked a little tired last IU drive.
