IU women basketball recruiting has improved some….but there are those schools that top 10 recruits belong too and those schools continuing to compete in the top 25 recruits area much more than IU Ladies. Now, competing for the top 50 recruits that market has been competitively expanded among more schools where IU is creatively competitive. Winning 20 games is ok and is kind of borderline solid season because a team plays around 30 games and that includes lower level pre season programs. 20 win seasons are not that impressive. 20 wins 13 loses = 60%

IUFB vs UCLA - Saturday, 10.25.25 @ Noon on Fox TV
TTT replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
If IU doesn’t at least solidly win this game with somewhat dominant performance…this season will have already peaked and tail off….. IU wins this game at least within a a touchdown of point spread and more than likely covers point spread. -
That’s fine and dandy, a good start, and the right verbal! Attitude. Now, go out and win 25 to 30 plus games……don’t see how that is going to happen….but just do it anyway, anyhow, everywhere, all the time.

I think Daley will do well. Who backs up Daley?….Landino…..Ndukwe

Prove it wrong…7-0

In many years of tradition by this time of year (by October) IU was simply pretty beat up and injuries accumulated to an already deficient roster and coaching without depth at various positions. The last year and half IU has physically matched up well with very low injuries and definitely not beat up because of superior coaching and talented players.

Well if you are going to consider Dolson, you should consider Whitten as well. She has her haters…but she has been somewhat high profile in both men and women basketball and she loves that center of attention in football….now since its success. Does Cig hire and success happen with Brand? Herbert? McRobbie? Answer: NOOO!

Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!
TTT replied to mamasa's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
In the future whether some fans will be dead and those that are still alive Indiana should finally have a retired coach with an elite winning record making Indiana an elite football program. -
Well rounded all around athlete including football….don’t forget…..Milt Campell. Came to IU 1953.

It’s also getting attached in a meaningful (thoughtful perspective and process) way to coaches and players as in you get to know the team, coaches and players image. They grow on the fans….you actually get to know them and who they are. It makes it so much easier to support and back the high level positive character they represent in the Cignetti era….He continually emphasizes the high character players and coaches in the/his program and thus far it has been remarkably demonstrated.

Looking at apartment rentals lately as in luxury upscale upwards of $3,000+/month.

Some things are obvious ticket sales, fans, donor support, merchandise, etc etc but how do you measure the IU brand impact financially and the significance of Whitten, Dolson (he talked about blueprint in making this hire….where was the blueprints in making other hires rather than pulling them out of one’s backside lol…,or since it has worked so well now you had a blueprint…remember that on future hires. And then the major main significance of Cignetti, his family, coaching staff, support staff and all others involved….back to the main point….the financial significance of the IU brand led by coach Cignetti….. measuring stick.

I don’t disagree. But the focus is on football now rather than wishing just get the football season over with so basketball season can start (accept basketball has become dismissal seasons as well). Now, the last season and a half football is setting a bar to which basketball season can be measured against and it just so happens at the beginning of the school year. as Pagoda points out.
-
Another thing has changed in Bloomington. Unlike in most (almost all) past years during this time of year in October hardly anyone is so excited, anxious or so looking forward to basketball season. Basketball season can wait.

I doubt it Cig would be any more successful than Franklin at Pent State if it all washed out. What’s an elite program? If in the decade Coach takes IU into eliteness wouldn’t IU be young elite program?
-
I agree. Actually, this has to be gratifying, very gratifying in being in the group of the happiest coaches, staff, players, and others involved (excluding exception/s…..isn’t there always exception/s….hard to find) in football land across the country.
-
If IU coach would leave IU for a traditional elite program I would predict he averages 7, 8 or maybe it would be a stretch to 9 wins definitely not the level he is currently at IU (nor is he going to continue at a 16-2 clip at IU but he will go out finally as a high percentage winning coach at IU) for several reasons….just brainstorming a list of reasons.

I imagine a lot of players want to play for IU in football program….Now….NIL???…. It’s ‘Happy Limestone Quarry’
