He is new to coaching CBB and I am sure he be the first to tell you that he still has a lot to learn about the College game and I expect he, his staff and Thad Matta will all sit down after the season and discuss those very issues. The team had a chance to beat two very good ranked teams but no matter what the plan was down the stretch that the coaches laid out, the players failed to execute.

I’m expecting it. We have to win the next 3. What kills me is we played two very good ranked teams good enough to win and had the lead late but could not close it out. TJD is a very good complimentary piece but this team lacks a go to guy on the wing who can create his own shot when things break down

And yet many on here want CMW fired already and some have felt the Administration made a mistake firing Sampscum. The roster is flawed and that proved obvious down the stretch with a 4 point lead and we had 3 positions in a row where we could have extended the lead to 6 or 7 around a minute to go, instead we tried to force feed TJD and that didn’t turn out well. The biggest boneheaded feed was the obvious feed from the top of the key by Race and that was not ever going to work. instead, we needed someone who can create their own shot like Davis on Wisconsin and we don’t have that

Bingo! We don’t have a go to guy like Davis who can take over a game and create his own shot. We make dumb play after dumb play down the stretch! We have a point guard who is bipolar and our best 3 point shooters are more catch and shoot guys and one of them can’t hit at all from deep. We have a flawed roster that was primarily put together by the previous coaching staff.

He’s a good coach but he broke the rules and got us on probation which set us back plus his players were troublemakers and many had drug problems. That is a coach who should have never been hired at IU in the first place. What he did to this university, I can’t believe people wanted him back. He’s the primary reason we are in this mess in the first place.

X is a bone head! Has been most of the season. Doesn’t have a good basketball IQ and let’s his emotions dictate his play. We don’t have players who can make winning plays during crunch time and that starts with your point guard.

This team does not know how to play winning basketball down the stretch. We were up 4 with less than 2 minutes to play and had 3 possessions in a row that came up empty mainly because of poor execution!

That’s putting it mildly but none of us can argue it because Kopp has sucked the entire season!

Referring to Kopp,At least he hasn’t impacted the team negatively like X has! Already 5 turnovers and he had at least that many the last game. His decision making most of the season hasn’t been that great but it’s gotten worse lately!

That seems to be the common denominator since he has been on board at IU. It does seem like injuries have gone up since he’s been here. I don’t think Turdue, Wisky or any of the top teams seem to have the injury plaque we do

Is OSU only having 2 days between games an advantage for IU because they could be tired or is OSU losing today allowing IU to walk into a hornets nest? I want to think it could be an advantage and we all know IU’s road woes and we could use all the help we can get!

The article made it sound like he’s good at defense based on his length; although, I think it did say he’s working on his D because he knows that’s how he can see minutes

Absolutely! As he, Thad Matta, and Dolson should do as well. I would think Woody would be the first to tell any of us that he has a lot to learn about the college game. I picture those 3 sitting down and evaluate Woodson’s 1st year and what he needs to work on to improve. We all knew weren’t getting a complete and experienced college coach but the candidates were few and Dolson felt that Woodson was the best choice. Good, bad or indifferent he is our coach and I hope like heck he succeeds because that will make it better for the next guy.

Possibly, and I said don’t take offense to it.

Of the 5 games left, we have win 3 and 3 of them are on the road and we all know we play on the road. The 3 winnable games IMO are: Maryland, Minnesota and Rutgers. That makes Rutgers a must win in my book, a very tall task because of how they are play compared to how we are playing.

Of those 6, 4 of them all played for a flawed program and they have never sniffed the NCAA tournament. Besides the two freshman, what we have is the island of misfits that all played for other college coaches before CMW. My only expectation for this team this because it was a flawed roster was just to make the NCAA tournament. We were firmly in until this recent skid, partly because of the coaching staff and partly because of the players. Plenty of blame to go around but I say we let the season play out. Also, no matter the outcome of this season, let’s also see what adjustments are made during the offseason and beyond. This is year 1 of the CMW era, we all should take a step back and wait until it’s complete before we start calling for his head!

You are correct! The inconsistencies with this team is because of the guard play and X is one of the most inconsistent, it’s like he is bi-polar. Also, we don’t have a real go to guy, a guy that can take over games and he is able to create his own shot.

Yes, it does. They both need to come off the bench but not at the same time.
