Nice bounce back game effort wise! CMW definitely got their attention and there was no let up tonight! We shot decent, not great, but decent from 3 and shot a nice 77% from the line. Glad to see Durr, Lander and Leal play and they were all productive! Nice overall game for the team!

I agree with this! It’s 1 game. This team will improve. Let’s see how this team looks after 4 or 5 games and again after 8 or 9 games! I bet this will be a whole different looking team by the end of December! GO HOOSIERS!!!!

We don’t have 4 shooters right now and we may not by the end of the year, but I do think we will have 3 shooters as this team develops and improves throughout the year!

I am not saying that it will ever happen but the theory is that defense wins ball games. If you hold a team to zero in any sport, football, soccer, hockey, etc… you’ll never lose. The worst thing than can happen is a tie but a tied game isn’t losing. Don’t get me wrong, I like offense too and a team that has a good offensive flow but CMW had to start somewhere and he decided to start with defense first because he feels that will give his team the best chance to win until his offense comes around. In the meantime, we will just have to keep hoping that the defense shows up the entire game and we start seeing improvement on the offensive end. I for one think that will happen!

Pertaining to prioritizing defense. CMW is doing it now because he knows if we play good D, it should give us a chance to compete and give us a chance to win! His offense is more complex and it takes much longer for the players to catch on, in the meantime defense is the name of the game right now! Let me ask any of you a question! If you hold a team to 0 points, can you lose the game? That’s why the emphasis on defense first. The offense will come around, I will give it about 8 games and we will see a big difference with this team!

Mike Woodson stated he is using this game as a teachable moment. Let’s see how we improve each game. That is something we haven’t seen for quite some time with the previous coaching staff. A trademark of a Knight coached team is their improvement throughout the season, I expect that will happen under Woodson.

And most of those were in the 1st half! Shooting too quick is as good as a turnover.

It seems like we lacked energy the 2nd half! Going 4-24 from 3-point range and 12-20 from the free throw line won’t win many games, but it is only one game that we won and I am curious to see how CMW uses this game as a teaching moment for the next game!

At least 22 wins, at least a 7 seed on the tourney.

Well said! Let’s put those old and crappy memories in the rear view mirror and look forward to this season. I think this team has the real potential to be better than all the expectations as long as CMW and staff can pull it all together. I am looking forward to seeing players actually get better throughout the year instead of digressing!

That’s been the same broken record for the majority of the past 10-12 years, minus 1 or 2 years that we had a good team.

I am definitely pumped for the start of the season! I may not sleep well tonight. I know it has burned many of us to get our hopes up but this team definitely has potential to be better than everyone anticipates if Coach Mike Woodson and staff can pull it all together. GO HOOSIERS!!!!
