I've said for years that IU runs its athletic department as a charity while other schools run theirs as a business. I'd say that's pretty accurate. To be honest, I wouldn't trust any of these people to run a lemonade stand.

I can't believe that she had the nerve to bring up the football program. We all told you when Allen was hired that this carnival barker wasn't remotely qualified to be a P5 HC. We all told you the COVID season where they didn't play in front of fans and didn't beat a single team that finished in the top 25 was a total hoax. Yet you hired him and gave him that ludicrous extension and $35M buyout anyway. Unbelievable how dumb these people are.

The same people who just retained Woodson are basically the same people (same mindset at least) who made this abomination our HC for 6 years. Sorry if I have no faith in the decision making.

It's going to take an insane amount of NIL $ to give Woody a competitive team next season.

If you read Cathy's post it's pretty clear that they don't. Seems they probably anticipate a firing or retirement next year when Pearl and Dusty are long gone. Get ready for the Michael Lewis era and another firing 3-4 years later. Absolutely brilliant management of the program.

The problem with all this is you people have been wrong about everything every single time going back to the Knight firing. We told you to fire Davis in 2001 and bring in Pitino or Alford. We told you to fire Davis in 2004 and bring in Thad Matta. We told you to hire John Beilein and not Kelvin Sampson. We told you to fire Crean after year 3 and bring BS. We told you to fire Archie after year 2. We told you not to hire Woodson when Brad fell through 3 years ago. I actually emailed the AD and BOT with all of this at the time. Now we just told you to fire Woody and bring in Pearl or possibly May. How many times do these absolute morons have to be wrong before they finally start to listen? No one anywhere else could be so wrong so many times and still have a job.

Hopefully Purdue hangs a banner. Guarantee you they just gained a ton of fans.

The culture is the same. It's why certain coaches can never be hired despite most other schools having no issues hiring them. They still don't get it.

He'd be the most popular coach the entire state of Indiana has had since the year 2000. They don't want that. I've heard those words I used too many times over the years from people very close to the program. I'll believe when I see it. I do think Dolson wants Pearl. I think the BOT blocks him. We'll see.

I grew up near Evansville and attended Pearl's camps as a kid. Met him at least a handful of times. You could tell right then and there in the mid 90s the dude just had "it". Literally everyone around loved the guy. Lives and breaths basketball and is full of positive energy. Would absolutely win big here. Best coach in the B1G on day one. That's exactly why the BOT will likely block it. "No one bigger than the program ever again". The egos on these people is off the charts.
