    That's the key. Convincing donors that they will get a good return on their investment. If we were guaranteed to make the FF next year I'm confident Dolson would have no issues raising $20M.

    Except that $13M this season is probably the equivalent of $7-8M last year.

    We only need about 7 from the portal, correct? That's 3 plus sign 4 more at around $1M each.

    Need one elite 5 man like Sherrill. It's just too important in the B1G. Pay him $5M if need to be then get an elite PG for $3M. A shooter for $2M and Moneyball the rest.

    I do think you need to spend $8-9M, land 2 stars like Burton and Bigunda and moneyball the rest of the roster with mid majors. Clearly DeVries disagrees.

    Or he's still very bitter about 2008, knows Burton is our topic target, and is willing to significantly overpay or at minimum, make us overpay. Sampson is a very slick dude.

    I think all we're hoping for is 3 impact players (only had one last season) and a few complimentary role players. It shouldn't be that hard if we have $14M. No one is expecting to build a FF team through the portal this year.

    Lots of rumors on Self's health. Some think he'll retire right before the season so he can slide in Jacque Vaughn. Have to free up money too.

    The model for P5 programs from now on will likely be keeping it in house or hiring a mid major up and comer and lowering the axe every 2-3 until you hit. You aren't pulling away a sure thing unless there's unusual circumstances.
