    Very possible that Dolson does have his guy and that Dusty was never the #2.

    No one really knows a damn thing. The only real certainty is that we were never getting Stevens. No one should be surprised with any other possibility. Kind of fun actually.

    It was a reward for a nice season and Dusty was never going anywhere. He doesn’t want a fishbowl job. It’s better for all that he stays at UM. Not a good fit here imo.

    Butler grad though and lived in Indiana for over 20 years. Not much different than Brad.

    It’s not that I don’t trust Dolson. It’s the BOT and Whitten that has to sign off on the hire that worries me.

    He used to post on HSN I believe then left after the Brad and BillyD to IU assurances fell through. I think anyway.

    He’ll be announced as our coach the same day Haralson commits to IU. Any day now.

    He can recruit that's for sure. He landed 3 of the top 33 players in the Rivals 150 for 2024 and that's at Baylor. I've always thought he's a slightly above average coach but an elite recruiter. We could do a ton worse.

    I just can’t see any scenario whatsoever where he has already agreed to take the job but hasn’t informed the Celtics. He would burn so many bridges. And no, I’m not saying IU should’ve announced anything by now. I would definitely expect something from the Celtics side.

    Because there is nothing stopping Brad from leaving the Celtics today, start putting together a staff, and begin scouting for the portal. There’s no reason not to and zero reason for the Celtics to want him to stick around if he’s already leaving. Guys like Drew, Beard, McCollum, etc still have teams to coach and are going dancing. Night and day scenario.

    Would Dolson be talking with AAU coaches to see how much the Hanner Perea thing would impact Drew’s recruiting?

    Exactly. The Celtics are paying Brad $11M a year. If he already had a foot out the door someone would know something and something would’ve leaked well before now. He’s not staying in that position and taking that kind of money if he had already agreed in principle to take the Indiana job. Just no way.

    If it’s Brad something will leak, likely from the NBA side, sooner rather than later. If we start to get into March and we haven’t heard anything concrete I almost guarantee you it isn’t Brad.

    Doubt it’s Jay. He actually looked old in the studio today. Doubt he has any interest in returning to coaching and has zero Indiana ties.
