  1. At some point you're just going to have to come to terms with the fact that Woodson will not be the coach after this year. I know denial can take time to work through. We're to help you, so I'll say that this scenario has a 0% chance of happening. Only about a month remaining before reality hits. I hope you'll be ok when that happens.
  2. I hope it's the 8/85M if this is accurate. That's ~$1.5M/year more than the other deal plus not as long of a commitment if it somehow didn't work out. So a better deal for both sides, imo.
  3. Indeed. Schools want the buyout for a coach leaving to be as high as possible while coaches want just the opposite. It's obvious that May/his agent worked to get it low.
  4. It's not #2 since his buyout for getting fired is 70% of his remaining contract which comes out to something like $10.5-11M. There are 2 different buyouts.
  5. I thought the sarcasm was obvious. I guess not. We weren't really recruiting anyone even when Woodson didn't know he was getting canned.
  6. We all thank you for your dedication to staying in this thread.
  7. Good call. I think "toady" is what was meant.
  8. Seems legit. You should get right on that, make sure to click the link from in the email instead of going to the site.
  9. The poster who does the most posting the same things over and over again mostly posts in this thread. Without it, he wouldn't stop posting the same things over and over again, he'd just do it in all the other threads. I know what to expect when I open this thread, and it isn't that there will be something new. Since this thread is mainly for venting and Woodson is the same as he ever was doing the same things, that is to be expected. I don't understand your need to tell people how to post and what they should or shouldn't post about. You've said many of the same types of things since your time on HSN, so it's not as though you're not repetitive as well except your repetition is more in concept rather than exact words.
  10. Nice win. I didn't expect it so it was a nice surprise. I'm glad Izzo didn't get the satisfaction of passing Knight by beating IU.
  11. I wonder if Woodson didn't recruit him hard because he saw he wasn't good or if it was his normal aversion to recruiting. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt in this one because he seemed to put even less effort than others.
  12. That's why you two get paid the big bucks.
  13. 2 bigs lineup here we come! I'm excited for that and Izzo won't expect it.
  14. He's spinning it like IU is the problem itself rather than the problem is that IU has hired bad coaches. He also left out that coaches would have a real chance here given the resources available now in this changing NCAA landscape.
  15. Wasn't that a player instead of Scheyer? Filipowski, I think? I think he tried to trip and shove a fan and ended up hurt himself.
  16. Someone already posted these numbers but now is a good chance to do so again: At a P4 schools, he's won 67.5% (179-86) overall but only 53.7% (73-63) in conference in 7 whole seasons and 2 partial seasons. Of his complete seasons: Only 1 time did he finish with less than 7 losses in conference. Only once did he finish with single digit losses. It's just not as impressive of a resume as some make it seem. They look at only those 2 really good seasons at TT which he hasn't come close to replicating.
  17. The real reason Woodson is upset he's losing his job is that he'll now have to pay for the trips to different golf courses around the country as well as the green fees instead of doing it on IU's dime.
  18. I've seen that Mick Cronin has a large buyout but not the numbers in discussions here though I may have missed it. His buyout is $16M until April 1. At that time, it drops again (don't know how much). This is the same if he leaves or gets fired. I don't see IU spending that kind of money for Cronin.
  19. I thought it was open game on you and @Class of '66 Old Fart but off-limits for everyone else.
  20. He very well could do well. I was talking about the fan reaction according to the poll above. He has the 2nd highest neutral vote count (1 less than the leader Gates) and his neutral percentage is higher than both yes and no. I personally voted neutral.
  21. I joined the old peegs site in the mid 90s, with a user name close to or the same as my current one here. At some point I forgot my password and created another account under user name minneman. I stayed on the rivals site and didn't follow peegs when they left. This was until a few years ago. I didn't really post on there much. After that, I went to HSN under username go_iu_bb and was on there for a while. I still go there occasionally. When HSN kept crashing during the last coaching search, I ended up here.
  22. At this time: The most acceptable: Brad Stevens The most unwanted: Micah Shrewsberry (sorry Stuhoo) The most meh: Dennis Gates (an argument could be made for Ben McCollum for this "honor")
  23. That is up to the school on how to split up the money but they must take Title IX into account. It's also unclear at this time what percentage needs to go to women's sports. It will be affected by Title IX (per the courts) but it isn't clear how: 50/50, something else based on revenue generated, or some other method? The courts didn't clarify what they meant. Most of the men's money will probably go to football with the majority of the rest going to basketball. How much of the $20.5M cap (I assume IU will hit that cap) is unknown at this time. The school probably doesn't even know yet since there will likely be clarification between now and when they have to start paying it out. They likely have several plans based on possible outcomes but nothing is public.
