  1. I don't really see anyone that would conflict with Ngongba so maybe if Edgecombe commits one of the wings, especially since they also have Flagg and and are trying to get Harper.
  2. If we made a bowl game, Allen would automatically get a 1 year extension so the buyout would be even more. I would guess that it would be about $25-26M now then $20M through the end of next season like it is now. So even just making the bowl game eliminates the chance that Allen would lose his job purely from a financial aspect. Even if they just get close to a bowl game I can see Dolson not firing him this year, saying some crap like, "It was a tough season but there was improvement which gives us confidence next year will be better."
  3. Even that is probably high considering 2 of the 3 are on the road so I doubt the odds in those are are as high as 50%.
  4. Yes. Winning the next 3 games against bad teams won't change my mind that Tom Allen is a bad coach. Even if IU somehow finds a way to make a bowl, this win will likely be the only win against a good team. If IU makes a bowl, I very much doubt they win. If they somehow defy that expectation, that means it was likely a crappy bowl against another bad team.
  5. It looks like Eric Bossi's evaluation of "just enough of a shot maker to keep defenders honest" is pretty accurate.
  6. The one that was maybe 1 step inside the 3-point line? His shot selection certainly still needs work.
  7. Automatic extension if they make a bowl.
  8. I read it as IU is a bad team who plays ugly football, so for IU to have a chance to win the other team would have to be playing just as bad or worse.
  9. "It was a tough season but we saw improvement. We think Coach Allen can build on that."
  10. Some IU fans while following recruiting:
  11. A player can be a very good college player who's game doesn't translate well to the pros. One and done players don't actually need to have great college seasons because they are drafted on potential rather than their college production. So a very good transfer can certainly have more impact than a one and done. One advantage of a portal player versus a high school player is that the portal player has college experience and is more of a known quantity with less chance of being a miss. Even highly ranked high school kids can take time to get used to the college game and might never get there.
  12. Whatever the reason, I'm happy he's part of the team. if he wants to get into coaching, having another coach on the floor can only help.
  13. 19 of those split as evenly as possible between 3 players: Johnson, Galloway, and Cupps. Those players didn't have either TO. I'm not concerned about PG at this time.
  14. Reneau with 4 fouls in an exhibition game against a small team. Sigh Good thing we have Walker. He did hit 2-3 on 3s, though.
  15. The officials missed a foul on the visiting team.
  16. Maybe we should wait until he announces before we declare that the sky is falling. Crazy, I know.
  17. Sad news. He was the coach at IU for about half of my life. I vaguely remember the '87 championship and my favorite IU teams are still the ones of the early '90s. I'm glad he decided to let his grievances with IU go and has been around the program for the past few years. He wasn't perfect but he was a great coach. RIP
  18. https://swimswam.com/ahmed-hafnaoui-makes-scy-debut-for-hoosiers-in-double-dual-sweep-over-auburn-missouri/ https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2023/10/25/mens-soccer-no-5-9-indiana-cruises-to-victories-over-no-10-18-auburn-no-20-rv-missouri
  19. Josh McDaniels is now available. lol
  20. It wasn't clear from the tweet whether IU was actually in contact with him or if it was speculation that IU might get involved since they missed on Fland. To me it seemed more of the latter.
  21. See @str8baller's post above. 12-15 3's per game is not very many and would be the same or less than was shot by last year's team. Or do you mean 12-15 3's made per game?
  22. So he's either a dead eye shooter (best ever evaluated by one person) or just a serviceable shooter who is just good enough to keep defenders honest. That's quite a bit of disagreement on his shooting prowess. The skeptic in me says the latter is probably closer to the truth since the former comes off as hyperbolic, especially when considering the size disadvantage he'll have at the college level. Of course, Yogi turned into a very good shooter so I may be wrong.
  23. B1G domination!
