I would think the staff would take it into account if a player has a history of transfers and whether or not he made his teams better. Don't get me wrong, fit is important, and it's definitely preferable to get a guy in and meet with him, but we are absolutely terrible right now, we just came off a horrendous season, we need to upgrade our talent, and I would think the concerns you have would be included in how a potential portal pickup is evaluated, with or without meeting with him.

^^ Yes, depending. If there's scouting, film review (one would think) and a plan for the player coming in I don't see a visit being a necessity - preferred sure, but necessity, no. We need to upgrade our talent and fill spots, if getting a player that looks to be a good fit before he goes elsewhere means taking him w/o a visit, do it.

That’s how I won my office pool last year. After the FF one of my partners running the pool emailed everyone saying the possible pool winners were down to a, b and c and left me out. Uh, picking the winner is big points and none of a,b or c picked UConn. I still rib him about it lol. Oh, and it’s WHEN Uconn wins…
