Great article on Haliburton and Carlisle, on how both have evolved and the freedom Carlisle gives hali after growing as a coach, including developing his offense around his players and not the other way around. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45493117/how-rick-carlisle-impacts-tyrese-haliburton-indiana-pacers Exactly what any team wishing to compete at the top needs.

Thing is, whoever wins Game 3 has won the finals more than 80% of the time in NBA playoff history. People need to get a little more faith here. The fact is, the Pacers right now are in the driver's seat. Game 3 was huge. That's not to say the Thunder can't come back and win Game 4, but the Pacers are the team in control right now, and the way they won this game reflects that. Not a comeback, first lead with the last shot like G1, but tied at the half, several leads, and a demonstrable pull away in the 4th, Hali solid and one assist away from a triple double -- 22 (on 9-17), 11 and 9 -- with guys like Mathurin stepping up, and SGA outplayed (9-20 for 24, 8 and 4, and -3 on the night). Pacers can win this thing.

Not yet!

P’s are underrated- and Hali outplayed SGA
-
reasonable potential ref interpretation -- complete stepping on the player and finish...
-
Game day - P's need to find a way to win this one. Hali has to figure out how to get into the paint and score in the 1st half.
-
Hali needs to step it up in Game 3, he has to be more aggressive earlier in the game. Agree with this from Pelton: In particular, Carlisle would be wise to extend the minutes for Haliburton and Myles Turner. The Pacers played almost even with both players on the court and were outscored by double digits in the minutes they rested. Saw a comment that the P's are +7 in the series against the Thunder so far with Hali on the floor -- and that's despite that he's not scoring well until the 4th Q in both games. He has to take more shots and earlier, and Carlisle should play him more and shorten the Bench -- Games 3 and 4 are both huge for the P's.

No, no, no, it’s dumb and dumberer
-
It’s fitting- Reggie was Mr Clutch now it’s Hali
-
it was a dumb move, it wasn't their primary lineup and it cost them on boards and let the P's get out and run. I'd bet they return to their usual lineup for G2.
-
It was pretty wild that the Thunder came out with a different starting lineup after being the clear best team in the League all season with that lineup Like, why? Still, Thunder seemed to have the game well in hand, and then the P's come roaring back again. Have to think we'll see the usual big lineup again from the Thunder, for the rebounding...

I propose that the Thunder take a page out of the Knicks' playbook, and fire their coach.

Didn’t catch the specifics but a broadcaster for cbs sports said something like the last time a team in the finals (maybe it was the playoffs) came back from 15 down in the 4th was 2011 - coached by Carlyle — it was 2011 when the Mavs beat the Heat
-
OKC is outstanding, still should be the favored team — but, Pacers had the tougher road to the Finals, and man do they know to to craft a comeback— and Haliburton? Just wow. What an incredible clutch shooter he’s been this whole playoffs, has hit every one of those comeback/last second shots. I didn’t think for a minute they were making this comeback down 15 in the 4th. What a win
-
Honestly one of the greatest comebacks in playoff history
-
Holy sh Carlyle and the P’s know how to make a comeback- wow
-
Give up too soon?
-
Let's Go Pacers!

^^ Gotta like the (correct) descriptions of our 10 new players:' IU's transfer group is ranked No. 10 nationally by 24/7Sports. It consists of 6-8 forward Sam Alexis from national champion Florida, Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year Tayton Conerway from Troy, two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year Tucker DeVries from West Virginia and Drake, two-time All-Conference USA guard Lamar Wilkerson from Sam Houston State, Atlantic 10 All-Conference forward Reed Bailey from Davidson, All-Atlantic Sun Conference guard Jasai Miles from North Florida, fellow North Florida standout Josh Harris, Coastal Athletic Association All-Rookie player Nick Dorn, guard Conor Enright from DePaul and Drake, and guard Jason Drake from Cleveland State

Not sure where this should go -- more action on the alleged sexual misconduct against men's bball players by former team doctor Bomba. https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/45444572/more-men-allege-sexual-misconduct-ex-indiana-team-doctor
-
that sucks -- but, with Woodson gone and DeVries bringing in his own staff, DeVries is running his bball team, Buckner's past support of Woodson is now largely irrelevant.
-
WAIT just saw that the always Brilliant Knicks just fired Thibodeau!! LOL at the Knicks, what a joke of a franchise ... do wonder though, if they have a line on getting Malone, it would be a good move
-
That was such a bad move by Reggie, and Reggie is to this day my favorite NBA player. Hate, hate, hate Tayshaun Prince.
