  1. ^^ You guys do realize that Ware was was one of the top rooks in the League, all-rookie second team and got votes for rookie of the year, right? As a rook, he started 36 games, averaged 9 and 7 and 1.1 blocks, including 15 double doubles and 26 games with double digit scoring. Spo will call out professionalism and make sure guys are on board with his demands, but Ware is highly valued and for good reason.
  2. Yeah yeah, but who was worse? :)
  3. Largely how I see the two as well. CAM made the tourney but for Covid — pretty much everyone recognized we were in it. Would we have lost in the 1st round? Who knows. Woody rode TJD, he was completely incapable of adjusting his “system,” he did nothing to improve and instead brought in a top 10 NIL class and then bombed. I hated CAM’s system, but on coaching ability I tend to think Woodson was the worst coach I’ve ever watched in college. They were both terrible. How does one objectively compare terrible? I’m just glad they’re both gone and the U has finally hired a legit proven basketball mind. I don’t know if we’ll win now at the level we all want, but I’m confident we’ll be well coached, and the style of basketball will be fun to watch. It’s been a long time coming
  4. And as should be obvious, spent it poorly. The focus of some of these posts on money is just off.
  5. Jordan’s an outstanding player - come on down Jordan
  6. Seems like we're closest in with Almond and Adkins - any updates on the recruiting outlook on these guys?
  7. Interesting score discrepancy between this and Ristic's game against Israel...
  8. Like Demo said that's a great W. Imo, the important stats to highlight for Ristic are his assists and TO's (including assist to turnover ratio). He's not a shooter or much of a scorer.
  9. Yes agree, that’s why I said it fits the ncaa’s lack of consistency
  10. The 7 boards in 13 minutes is very solid, and the better part of those stats. Now @Stuhoo will come on to post yeah but it was against a lousy Israel team! Lol :)
  11. Hard to make sense of NCAA decisions generally, this one fits the bill for NCAA lack of consistency. I wish Goode well, appreciated his play and effort while he was on the team. Thanks Luke for what you brought to our team. Now it's a full re-set on the team -- it's entirely DeVries' team, looking forward to seeing him build it forward, 2025-26 and beyond.
  12. That’s fair, but the idea that he’s a project and just a 12th player seems off. Hanner P was a project— athleticism without bball game skill or high level experience. This kid is playing in a pro league and appears to have good floor vision and skill (with a handle that needs improvement). That’s not a project and the problem I have is what sounds like a dismissive take on his game from Rab without actual knowledge of it. Haven’t been impressed with Rab for some time, fwiw. Demo’s assessment above was based on his game and well reasoned
  13. I know we heard Rabby’s exceptionally, surprisingly negative take on Ristic, but plus 14, multiple assists (7) to 2 TO’s in 27 min in these pro-level games to me says he has game.looking forward to seeing how he fits in, would think he sees floor time as backup pg.
  14. 1. Ballo 2. don’t know 3. Moore - M 4. Moren - way way too early on Cig 5. Ponds 6. OG 7. Woody fired - how many fb events are you gonna list lol 8. Corso
  15. My pure money thinking is you have to take into account that DeVries hsd to put an entire team together. You can’t go crazy in bidding on a couple guys when you’re trying to construct an entire team. On the roster, it looks solid to me but time will tell. The hole is lacking a true rim protector, but DeVries isn’t hiding from that he’s looking to play to the team’s strengths as built - get out and run, spread the floor, wing actions, scrappy D and wear the other team down, hit the glass. Looking forward to seeing how it shakes out, it will minimally be a thousand times better coached than the that God awful mess that Woodson ran — with rim protectors
  16. Yes money matters but seriously we’re spending enough, it will come down to coaching, health the right mix of talent, which includes recruiting going forward. To me, DeVries has started well, and he’s done well in turning programs around consistently. Not going to sit around stewing about whether we could’ve spent even more.
  17. Couldn't agree more with the above. It's not a money issue, enough money is there, how we do will depend on coaching, the right mix of recruited and portaled players, and player health.
  18. I’ll say this — we have every reason to expect actual modern bball, and FUN basketball— sets for outside shooting, proven high output outside shooters, outlet passing and transition D, high energy players— looking forward to the season!
  19. Paragraphs are your friend!
  20. Are you sure it isn't actually late senility? :)
  21. A certain Loaded Chicken Sandwich will be crushed
  22. Not sure if he has enough shoes….
  23. I haven’t seen him play, other than quick clips and stories, but sounds like an all out hustle player who brings it to every possession— that stuff’s infectious, should help get the team playing hard consistently
