  1. You can join their discord, for a price.... It's live discussion
  2. Is it, could it actually finally be... GAME DAY??
  3. Doubt he plays much if at all in PR given that he just got to IU, but maybe he'll get a little floor time
  4. I understand the analytics side of assessing things, which of course also depends on how past teams were built. Here, players when interviewed about what they discussed with DeVries and staff when being recruited specifically commented on how they’re looking to get out and run, and DeVries said the same thing in a published interview about the team. And of course we don’t have rim protecting traditional bigs, we have guys who can spread the floor and get out on the break. I’d be really surprised if we’re not a running and gunning team
  5. I have a suspicion he’ll outdo expectations
  6. I’m very interested in the tempo side. This team — including according to the players themselves— is built to get out and run and gun. I don’t think looking at last year’s WV team is apples to apples. I think the pace will be on the faster end - we’ll see
  7. One of my all time favorite Hoosiers, junior year was so special
  8. It's learning the schemes and defensive sets, not individual defense. Doesn't surprise me, all sets are new to them both individually and as the 5 on the floor. That takes time.
  9. A great shooter, and humble...
  10. SIAP -- good writeup on the open practice https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketballs-summer-open-practice-who-and-what-stood-out/
  11. Hmm - 2 coaches who couldn’t coach didn’t want their practices open…. :)
  12. It's our own "Dead Period"
  13. Circa 1995, Elastica - popped up from algorithm in my Apple Music, a 1-hit wonder 90s fun jam
  14. Reminds me of Woodson’s focused recruiting…. lol, not
  15. One difference is our noncon SOS is better than last season. B1G should be plenty strong enough for a pretty good SOS, imo, coupled with a better noncon SOS.
  16. Our SOS actually looks pretty good
  17. Also from one of the linked - DeVries: “Andrej is a talented big man that we are excited to get in our program and develop,” DeVries said. “He has good size and is able to score the basketball in different ways. He is strong on the glass and has good defensive instincts and timing when blocking shots.” Looks like a guy who can both bang and step out and hit mid-range and 3's, good instincts. Love seeing pickups for development like this, lots of upside and a Euro pipeline.
  18. From one of the links "Averaged 17.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in the U19 ABA League, the top league in the Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia region… during competition in the second Bosnian division, a senior level league, he posted 17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game… shot 65.3% from the floor and 39.0% from the 3-point line… member of the U16 and U18 Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team….born on March 15, 2006." I know nothing about him either, but I like this writeup and at 6'11 with shooting? Yeah, sounds good to me. Que @Stuhoo with yeah but it was just the U19 ABA League somewhere in the Eastern Block, probably still at war, opponents were refugees! :)
  19. I don't understand why, with Moren's and the IU Women's well established track record of success, we aren't getting top ranked recruits on par with other programs. Is it all about NIL? Anything else slowing the recruiting? We do now have a better recruiting assistant coach, maybe it's just a matter of time?
  20. Stu with his new ride!
