  1. Who’s talking knee jerking? We’re talking adding a Bellar etc to the schedule
  2. This is what we were kind of expecting under Woodson, a 4 in 1 out, with mobility, p&r, outside shooting with Kopp - Stew. Didn’t materialize, but may see things more like this next season
  3. Yeah i have no problem with moving on for fit etc, happens all the time, just think that the better approach and the one you usually see is for the HC to wish the departing assistant well and thank him for his contributions, not publicly mske comments msking it clear he canned him
  4. It’s all opinion, but there are some basic points that imo really aren’t about opinion — how a HC announces an assistant coach’s departure. There isn’t a good reason to make it clear publicly that Woodson is pushing him out. Whether it’s ego or poorly thinking things through or whatever, the better practice, and especially given this is Fife the former player, is to handle it with class
  5. I can see where you’re coming from. I’m not sure what Josh meant, i thought we were talking about how adding a Bellar can make a real difference in improving SOS, that was Brum’s point as I understood it. For me we all get somewhat over focused on how bad we’ve been, because that was TC’s last season and all of CAM’s. CAM was terrible. TC did have us winning B1G titles and getting back to SW16’s - he wasn’t the right guy long term, couldn’t build consistency bc he’d build for 1-2 seasons and then have bad classes and a poor bench, but wr weren’t terrible then, we were just inconsistent. All of it stems from Sampsongate and the complete destruction of the program, but we took a big step forward to climbing the ladder back this season - now we need to strengthen the schedule
  6. That surprises me, i’m one who believes in depth, keeping legs fresh, using different looks off the bench. But that’s an interesting stat of this year’s tournament for sure
  7. Not really. Look at a UM, 17-14 and we beat them in the B1G and finish with a stronger overall record and we play in the play in and they get an 11, mostly bc of who they played - not who they beat. They lost most of their games to the better teams but were rewarded highly for their SOS. We do need to improve for sure, especially outside shooting and actually using the perimeter, but even replacing just a few of the real low SOS teams with teams like Bellar improves our SOS a lot. I guess we’re all talking degrees and aren’t really disagreeing (imo), but a Bellar is a step in improving our odds
  8. I don’t believe in conspiracy theories and blatant ncaa cheating, but i’m getting a very big oh wouldn’t it be great for ratings if Duke plays for the title feeling from our fabulous ncaa. The story line is getting pushed big time and it looks like it on the court
  9. Sensei, all can know good, as good, only because there is evil’ Modern variant — “All can know titles in basketball, as IU, only because there is PU”
  10. I’m no consultant but scouts i know have said similar things
  11. Our pace and inside game + 2-pt FG’s look great, outside shooting lacking right now, would expect T Moren to settle them down now bf 2d Q — look like evenly matched teams to me
  12. Just as the NBA has moved away from the slow or front-court limited big so too is college ball moving away. Long athletic bigs who can get out and guard on the wing or perimeter and bring a jumper.
  13. He played off ball and on with Yogi, but it was 2 primary ball handlers — he was a point coming out of HS and at IU
  14. The Hulls - Leal comparison is apples and oranges. Hulls was a lead guard, recruited as a tough point with a tight handle, great court vision. His shooting was a plus, but he was recruited to run point. Leal’s a 2. Both were 3 to 4 stars, fwiw, Hulls was ranked higher both nationally and in state, though we’re talking difference between low 100’s and around 150. Hulls was more ready than AL — and I like AL, absolutely has a spot on the team. It’ wasn’t just who else was on the team it was Hull’s floor vision, sure it took him some time to adjust like most HS - frosh points, but man that kid could could direct play. AL has toughness, he moves the ball, and he is a strong shooter, i think his role will grow as he gets stronger, he wasn’t really ready physically imo, but he is a guy i see heloing the guys around him and he brings energy.
  15. KU wins but Al Durham finishes with 21 and 7 boards— happy for Al, great finish to his college career
  16. Holy crap what a run by St P - and LOL :) :) :) first 15 seed EVER in EE - and at PU’s expense, classic
  17. Geronimo is going to be an all out beast. I’d bank on a big step from Bates, kid’s uber talented and can shoot, hope to see better shooting from Galloway. Would like to add a guy who can create his outside shot, but do think Bates will be knocking them down as a soph, and Geronimo has a good shot, expect more looks
  18. Dad was most likely proud! :)
  19. Definitely good news with Ya and Hunter back, and sounds like Walsh earned his stripes — Also I like continuity of the staff, for the current players and recruits, and yes, for peace of mind for us fans
  20. No one has really been talking much about IU — beating UCONN (major challenge) would be a big time step for Moren’s program and would vault IU up in the women’s team limelight — great opportunity
  21. Is Oprah giving away cars? I need one, put me on her list!
  22. Just ask A Franklin. Transferred to UVA, playing in NIT while IU made the tourney
  23. Houston is an excellent team, all they’re doing now they’re doing despite injuries including key players. I’m here in Houston, have seen not only their level of talent- as good as anyone- but their bond, these guys are a really, really tight group, they talk about each other as brothers, they talk about not letting each other down and fighting for each other. This team can beat anyone, and Sampson, of course, is a hell of a coach
  24. Yeah I remember his post-game interview after the PU W and being carried on shoulders in the court rush crowd: “I love IU” Great kid, great heart, dealt with multiple injuries and concussions, always came back bringing his best, wish him all the best
