  1. I am pretty sure everyone and their mothers know my feelings at this point on JG and Race (post injury), but JG was (and I assume is) in a boot so that's now irrelevant. Banks is showing reasons to get some time, some think more some think not so much, but Race this time had his time dialed back to 14 minutes, and Banks got 14 as well (5 pts 2 steals). Race is just not the same after his injury, I keep trying to say I'm not trying to bash him, as that's not my intent, but he's hurting the team offensively across several games, and one of my scout friends texted me recently asking what the heck he was doing on the floor. He just isn't playing good. We are thin up front now, but I'm glad Banks is showing some development, and I wish JG was healthy. Bates is a question mark for sure right now, I don't know what's going on but think it's probably mental. He has shown those 'flashes' in games, he has had some big games this season, but he's really fallen off and especially on the road. It was Woodson touting him coming in from the summer, he's seen the talent level, it's there, it's shown at times, but he's just been way off lately. I hope he figures it out, I'm not on the hope-he-enters-the-portal or he-will-enter-the-portal thing, I can't stand reading that kind of crap. We need production from the bench, for sure.
  2. Pretty cool article and a psychologist's interview on Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon -- 50 years later it's STILL on the Billboard charts, making it the longest-charting album in history. https://www.npr.org/2023/03/01/1159798950/psychologist-daniel-levitin-dissects-pink-floyds-dark-side-of-the-moon Waters' writing on the album was largely inspired by Syd Barret, who the band forced out (in '68) due to his behavior, from drug use and fame (and he was later diagnosed with schizophrenia).
  3. Completely agree. He's quick on/with the ball, his lateral movement, quick 'twitch' and running the floor speed is good, his D is usually strong, and he's a big, strong point or combo-guard. He's athletically in good position for the next level.
  4. Agree, they played a BS game as Woodson commented. However, also agree with HoosierFan1994 on this one. Pathetic showing, but at the end of the day it's one game after we swept PU, and are at least in the market for a 3-4 seed in the tourney. I have some issues with the lineups and how they're played, but the team and staff have shown they can play with and defeat the best B1G teams, as well as teams like Xavier. The UM game is now a lot bigger -- it's a mindset game, and one we should win. I think we all know Woodson will be laying into the guys heading into that game, and that we should expect to see them come out with a lot more fight, and focus. Think we will.
  5. Yeah and this year is wide open, the parity is just nuts
  6. That’s too bad, and yeah he hasn’t run or gone up for boards the same after the injury. That boot seems to haunt IU
  7. Wow wtf happened, in a nutshell? Was out and, I guess thankfully, had to miss the game. Why no JG? Injury? How did we curb stomped in the Hall by a team that can’t play D?
  8. Time to up the parity in women's team to men's team stuff, $15K??? Hey, it's 2023
  9. He really should be named B1G POY, especially after we swept PU
  10. Lunardi = idiot I thought about calling him an idiot savant, but he couldn't make the leap to savant :)
  11. Every draft year is different, it depends on the overall talent level and what teams are drafting and where.
  12. Honestly has some Derozan to his game, the midrange is underrated, he gets to his spot like an NBA guard and drills the midrange like Derozan. Hell Kobe had a sweet midrange game. He’s also a big guard and already has a man’s body and game. I’ve no doubt he can succeed in the League, my only questions go to how up and down his season’s been, and who is likely to draft him and at what spot. The same people saying he’s gone, sure fire high first rounder maybe lottery, we’re questioning him after his really off games and saying then he’s not going anywhere. It’s almost comical seeing the rapid opinion swings. Dude has all the talent, he’ll probably go, but no it’s not a certainty, still many games left. I think he’ll have the choices he wants, but I also would love to see him come back
  13. Kind of nutty that Iowa is the only remaining team in the B1G Woodson hasn’t beaten. That ends tomorrow
  14. That and of course he’s been projected in the 1st round for quite a while now. Scouts like him a lot, questions go to what team, what management, who are the guards on roster, what’s their plan for him/development plan, how high in 1st?
  15. Woody just said the other day X hasn't even been practicing. Can't imagine any scenario where he hits the floor after this lengthy injury without practicing.
  16. I'd like to see him lower his handle, his dribble is too high, holds him back a bit in traffic and when pressed. But yeah, he's added so much to his game.
  17. Yeah Sheehey had the same fire, a guy the other team offensive players can't stand. Love that kind of on-court attitude.
  18. Absolutely love his shot improvement. Remember all the posts saying how his shot was "broken" and that it was absurd and ridiculous to think he would ever shoot better? Yeah, guys can and do make big improvements in their games, and no, it's not comparing them to Oladipo. Hope Gallo's improvement, including later in his IU career as it has come, will remind. He's always been a hard-nosed defensive backcourt player, has always brought the energy and tenacity, he's shown close to point-guard level floor vision and assists. Now he's taken big steps in getting his former out-of-control drives under control, and his shot is light years better. Always great to see key guys make jumps in their games, remains and should remain a key part of the team's overall development.
  19. You sure like to argue, lol man. Yeah, Romeo’s situation is clearly much worse than Cody’s but you backpedal and spin your own argument. Ok. There are also plenty of examples like M Smart out there as well. Jalen will do what he thinks is best for his future— but he’ll do it on an informed basis, that’s a good thing, we’re talking about a lifetime career choice.
  20. It’s taken a while but water is finding its level. Wisconsin is circling the drain, again.
  21. Wow, yeah that’s a bad loss, that will likely hurt their seeding
