  1. maybe because IU was allegedly interested in Holtmann last time around and he told them "no thanks"?
  2. IIRC Holtmann is trying to flip Logan Duncomb and CJ Gunn from IU to tOSU
  3. largely agree; IMO the issue w/ Oats wouldn't be the buyout (or even any potential salary offer that Bama could match). I just get the feeling Oats doesn't want to leave Bama...yet. That might change if UNC or Kentucky came calling, but for IU these days...tougher sell. Maybe Oats needs to have a heart-to-heart talk w/ his fellow Maranatha Baptist grad, Coach Tom Allen.
  4. it might also garner some uncharacteristic praise from the "anti-IU" sports media, which could matter to some folks in IU Admin
  5. most IU fans will remember Moser from his last tournament run, which has some parallels to Archie's Elite Eight run (FWIW) oh well...maybe it's a smokescreen, maybe all the "bigger" names turned Dolson down--I can''t imagine Scott would need much help from donors to overcome Moser's buyout (if he even has one) if it is Moser, I hope to God he hires at least one REALLY good recruiter, since they'd be going after a different level of recruits than at Loyola.
  6. I can't imagine Beilein agreeing to that, except maybe back at Michigan if Martelli left
  7. the Drew stuff involved more than just Morefield's actions
  8. I'd be quite surprised if a coach--especially one as accomplished as Beilein--would agree to entering into a situation where the university/AD, not Beilein himself, chose one or more of the Assistant coaches. That's just not how these things typically work. If Dolson suggested it, and Beilein agreed, then maybe it could take place. But that's the only realistic way IMO it could happen.
  9. nice enough take, but would've been more helpful if he'd included some names none of the "IU guys" would seem to fit that description (at least, not the ones most frequently mentioned), nor would Matta or Beilein. Not sure who that leaves except maybe some "dream candidates" like perhaps Beard, Oats and Eric the Wild. Or SoCal Andy and his lovely wife...
  10. he's too busy trolling fanbases to break actual news
  11. Buffalo to Tuscaloosa to Bloomington would at least be heading in the right direction.....
  12. not to mention the # of "Assoc. Athletic Directors for [fill in the blank]"
  13. and they'll all always be part of the IU family.....
  14. don't forget to mention "cutting-edge" when you talk about offense
  15. sounds like (at least) 2 IU guys might be involved--Calbert and Woody
  16. pardon me while I indulge in some additional hallucination.....
  17. wonder if Oats is friends with fellow Maranatha Baptist grad Tom Allen?
  18. and would give the proverbial middle finger to Nike.....in other words, a win-win
  19. I call it "the Power of Positive Hallucination" (maybe I should get that trademarked)
  20. do the Pacers play that day?
  21. so Dolson is ACTUALLY talking only to Coach K and Spoelstra? that would explain the lack of rumors about them.....
  22. kinda think it does matter to Brad, though
  23. and we'll see what Ainge does or doesn't do
  24. which theoretically gives teams a chance to change coaches....which I thought was the guy's original point re: the 27th but why would Ainge (allegedly) give Stevens a raise then turn around and fire him? or maybe it's not just Stevens on possibly shaky ground in "Massholeachusetts"
