2.5 years? Hell the fans may want to see good basketball, but the administration is going to give you time. Davis got 6 years. Crean got 9. Sampson screwed himself. We’ve had 4 coaches the past 20 years and really only because one was stupid enough to get himself fired and the university was too stupid to deny, deny, deny. You have plenty of time here, but fans here aren’t stupid. They know what good basketball is. They can see it even with a bad team. They were going for the Portland model. Lillard and McCollum are both PG’s and about 6-3. Both can score and facilitate. Is that going to work with those 2? We don’t need either. We need someone that can develop players and put butts back in seats, at games and at home. Right now there’s no excitement. We have a big time recruit, but a crappy offense that’s beyond boring. A Bennett or Ryan wouldn’t fix that. Because it’s still in IU’s blood to play a great smart offense and put points on the board. Scoring 37, even with a win, wouldn’t be tolerated here. We need someone that can win recruitments, win over fans with charisma and that has an offense that actually works. What is going smaller going to do? Is that magically going to makes us better at shooting? Nope. Because our guys are terrible at that. No reason to get away from any strength we do have. Doesn’t matter what lineup we throw on the floor, teams will pack the paint and make us shoot. Going small just makes us a worse rebounding and defensive teams. He was here for 7 years. Had the linebackers for his first 5 years and they sucked. Had the special teams for the past two years and they sucked. So I kind feel it’s just whatever. He can take the DB coach too because whoever it is still hasn’t taught a single one of them to turn their heads or make a play on the ball. He can take Womack too. He’s awful. And our OLine coach.
