When talking about "fit" I can't think of many better than Pearl. He'd bring energy and excitement as a given. He's a coach that knows basketball and would appreciate a massive fan base that also knows bball. He knows Indiana and would be able to recruit the state well. He is good with the media and I'm sure donors. Oh and the dude freaking wins. I just think it'd be a fantastic marriage of coach and program. Those wondering if Pearl would be using IU for a raise at AU. Pearl just signed extension with raise 2 years ago. Also curious to know if his son is actually projecting to be a really good coach (doesn't seem far fetched) and if he is why in the hell we wouldn't want that as a possibility when BP retires. I can buy all of this. If I were a donor I'd want a signed contract from a proven winner before bailing these bafoons out yet again. Be interested to know which donor is talking about Pearl if that is in fact true. Could we have a peepee measuring contest take place with donors? You don't fire him before the end of the season because there isn't really a point to do that. Finally caught up, geez! Couple thoughts: - I said this during last search but if we get a Pearl type we'll know we have a proven coach. If things didn't go well, then we'd know the problems most likely lie elsewhere (ex:administration) - I am good with either of the 2 top names being thrown around. Dusty is not a fit for my first point but I think he could succeed - I don't want Cronin, Mussleman, TJ or Cal.
