Not really trying to argue your point but I'd say 9-3 with our schedule next year would still be a fantastic season. We would still be in the cfp top 25 and momentum would continue. Technically you are correct that less than 10-2 would be a backslide but it's also not realistic, right now, for us to expect IU in the playoffs with 10-2 or better every year. We can get there though.

Mendoza seems to have a case of happy feet. A little too much bouncing around. Could be a product of bad pass pro but regardless something that can be fixed. Seems to throw accurately on the run and has mobility in general. I hate trying to gauge a player from a highlight reel but I admit I haven't watched a second of Cal football in a really long time.

I have to assume Green's issue was pass protection. He seemed to have what you'd want from a pure running perspective. I also assume we'll be able to find a good RB in the portal. Feel like we need someone that can rise above Black and Martin

Look....I don't know much about Nitro the "real" person. However, in my NCAA 25 career I did get Nitro out of the transfer portal as a SO and the kid went on to set school records for yards and TD's. Clearly this means he's coming here and will be one of the greatest IU players of all time.

Imo this was the worst case scenario. Wouldn't be shocked if SMU stays in ahead of IU pushing IU to the last at large bid vs Alabama. The committee is not above doing whatever they feel like in the 11th hour.

I also would bet $ OSU is seeded higher than PSU. Common opponent, h2h and analytics will all favor OSU

This team is bad. Sloppy, lazy and poorly coached. The coach that was to be the "bridge"/bring everyone back together has made this fan base the most divided I've ever seen it in my lifetime. This can't end soon enough.

I know all of that. My entire scenario hinged on the committee putting Alabama in over IU in said scenario. There is no reasoning for it other than "Bama".

No. I am saying UNLV, Clemson and AZ St all being ranked outside top 12 but getting auto bids means 10, 11 and 12 ranked will be out. If the committee doesn't punish SMU and they want Bama in then IU is next on chopping block at #10 with Bama jumping us. It would take them inexplicably moving Bama above us but I put nothing out of the realm of possibility. Also it would take them "not punishing" SMU in that scenario.

They are the least worrisome of the 3 I mentioned. Would you be surprised to see IU bounced for Bama? Under the worst case scenario of 3 autos not in top 12 I could see it.

IU at 9 is important yet concerning. If BSU loses to UNLV that basically means #11 and #12 will both be out. If Clemson wins and stays outside top 12 then 10, 11 and 12 will essentially be out with 3 autos outside the top 12.....that wouldn't be great if they feel compelled to put Bama, Miami or SMU in

My guess would be they swap spots. Oregon/PSU loser will also change things at the top. How far would 11-2 PSU drop? Below OSU? I'd say the certainly will.

Home against Illinois will be tougher than you may think. @Iowa does seem to be winnable but I'm not overly confident. I figure they'll lose one of those at least which is why I think 9 is attainable but I also wouldn't be surprised with 7 or 8. A lot of roster movement to come so I will likely change my expectations

I like the optimism in here for 10 reg season wins next year but I see the absolute best case scenario is 9 and more likely 7 or 8.
