I think the confusion is because IU wants Woody to announce retirement and Woody is saying "fire me". He knows they don't want to "fire" him now or end of season if they can help it. Woody wants them to fire him for $ and so that he can use it as fire power and garner sympathy (in his mind) from a segment of the fan base/supporters. Dolson still has to play nice with people that supported Woody so that certainly plays a part in trying to make this as amicable an exit as possible.

What's this board's deal with Luke Brown? What'd he do to anybody to warrant being the butt of so many jokes/off-handed comments? Leave the kid alone. Also given his ability to shoot I'd be willing to bet he'd be welcomed to our last 8 years of absolute misery in terms of shooting. I just don't get it.

The whole contemplating retiring thing is to try and make this look like he is going out on his own terms. If he wants to coach the rest of the season then he will. Now his desires may change after Saturday. And for my list of candidates: 1. Stevens (not gonna happen) 2. Beard 3. Pearl 4. Few 5. S. Drew 6. Calhoun

I'd argue he should be the top option. Lifer, great coach, great recruiter (top talent to Gonzaga) and so much tournament success. Only reason for him not be top option is he just turned 63 in December

While the topic of utilization issues has come up. Is there a way to respond to someone's post and not be pushed to the end of the que but go back to the place you were just at? Am I doing something wrong or is this a problem for everyone?

They're not going to fire a coach mid-season that played here. The only way they part before end of season is through a "mutual" agreement to retire, effective immediately.

In regards to the TO thing from last night. I have no issue with not calling a TO there. I do have a problem lying about it and throwing his players under the bus. I also have an issue when down 3 with nearly 3 seconds on the clock, launching the in bound pass to the other baseline where 4 purdue players are waiting for it.
