Dunham isn’t coming back

Gunn has never gave confidence to ever get it together. Don’t think he will. Unless he magically turns on a switch, He’s a mid major player that will be a transfer candidate at the end of the year. He’s had plenty of opportunities.

Not to beat a dead horse but our metrics are awful. The mantra of a “win is a win,” as some people believe, doesn’t hold serve. You need to pound lesser opponents. As has been repeated before…a team will be more negatively impacted beating a low major by single digits than losing against a top team by single digits. As things currently stand, Barttorvik gives us less than a 1% chance of making the tournament. Do I think they’re higher? Yes, but at a bare minimum we will need to finish a few games above .500 in conference to have a chance, primarily due to low margin victories against far lesser opponents.

He looks fine on the bench. If it was closed I suspect he would play.

Let’s call a spade a spade. If cupps can’t shoot he’s a huge detriment. Almost unplayable, except we have no guards

Wish JHS stayed another year. He’s struggling right now in the league.

Archie has nothing to do with this team. If we want to blame Archie for this year’s shortcomings then should we give him kudos for last year’s success considering his players/recruits (TJD and Race) played a significant role?

Brutal loss. Was winning most of the game and you could just see Kansas begin to take control. It was death by a thousand paper cuts

Hopefully B. Stagger in subs if needed. If we look at Kansas’ minute distribution, 90% of the minutes are played by their starters. If A happens, we shouldn’t be surprised if some groans from the crowd are let out. Our 2nd unit isn’t good enough to to be playing significant minutes together in a game like this.

I think we're frustrated because we knew perimeter play was and is an obvious major glare/issue with this team. We had to go into this off-season getting legit perimeter play, no "ifs ands or butts.." and it wasn't done...and then we leave a scholarship open too. If we landed a bona-fide shooter, this team is different. As others have mentioned...we have an elite front court with a mid major back court. CJ Gunn was never going to be the answer this year and I'm not sure he ever will be, so I hope we learn and prioritize shooting heavily moving forward. McNeeley is a start in the right direction.

It was the same with Bates two summers ago too...and regarding Gunn, I don't think there's any argument where you can say he's further along than Bates his sophomore year...which frankly is a major disappointment on Gunn's development to date.

Agreed. Galloway has disappointed this season so far....but his shots aren't even close. He's throwing up so many legit bricks he could be a brick mason. Galloway should look to drive and or pass before shooting threes.

Well said. Which goes back to the way this team was poorly constructed. With that said - and even though they don't have high percentages so far - I would like to see MM (more plays run for him) and Cupps shoot more threes. We know these guys can shoot.
