Yea. We told on ourselves?! To compare Sampson to these other transgressions is ridiculous. What Sampson did was a fraction of hiring strippers, paying students, covering up sexual assaults, fake classes which is what some of our rivals were doing. Phone calls is not even in the same category. The irony of it all, is 99.9% of the time you would have never of heard about phone calls because the school wouldn’t have self reported. We did, and therefore everyone heard about it….and then Myles Brand decided to screw the season and make it public right in the middle of league play…where we were something like 20-2 (man I would give to have a record like that again.) and you know what? I wish our teams the last 10 years played with a fraction of the heart Houston teams play with. We’d get run off the floor cause those guys are the definition of grit and toughness. They play hard…something our teams have struggled doing.

I think we’re going to be good…but man, it would be a disappointment if we landed iowa’s back up in lieu of a Wade who clearly has interest…

It doesn't have to be Stevens....but it needs to be someone of that caliber to not be a disappointment. It just is what it is....everyone wants IU to be GREAT yesterday. Well said. It could still be a great hire and not Stevens.

I don’t want Iowa’s back up. At best, it’s a “so-so” hire. BTW - the fact that McCollum is Iowas backup should be a good indication that he too is not our top option/s either.

We do this every time. For every Bo Ryan there’s 10 or 50 others that failed. I’m not going to sit here and pray McCollum is the next Bo Ryan and Bruce Pearl…if you are, then chances are you’re in for a disappointment. Not to mention…we’re in the NIL era now. Much has changed since those 2 came on board
