  1. Painter looked as if he were chuckling after the exchange with Archie after the game. Probably went like this. AM: "Good luck. Been a pleasure trying to compete against you. The next time you play IU, you'll be shaking hands with Andy Enfield after your win." MP: "Who?"
  2. Not that we had any chance, but if we did, Rob killed it with that shot.
  3. How many friggin' steps did Edey take there? Good Lord!
  4. Dammit, Trayce -- you gotta make that!
  5. Is 3 seconds even a thing anymore? That last possession, Edey was in the lane for about 6.
  6. Shooting 34.2 percent overall (12.5 from distance). That's not particularly good.
  7. I think Trey's trey was our last -- or only, I guess -- hurrah. Cut it to 4 and have done nothing but make incredibly stupid plays since.
  8. I think they foul TJD not because he's left-handed -- because they know he can't shoot FTs.
  9. I can't believe how many times I've typed this over the past four years: What on Earth made Al think he could make that shot???
  10. Trey, with the trey? Did I just see that?
  11. TJD is standing wide-open, 18 feet from the basket, and nobody's guarding him -- because he can't shoot a jump shot. Good grief.
  12. Um, yes -- I was joking. I'm dumb, but I'm not stupid.
  13. Maybe Purdue pays the $10M buyout we have for Moren. We could use $10 mil right about now!
  14. Hummel is probably wondering if he can get fined or fired for saying "horseshit" He's running out of adjectives for our absolutely pathetic effort.
  15. I think TJD was throwing that to me.
  16. End of the Sharon Versyp Era at PU? Beginning of the Stephanie White Era?
  17. Poor Hummel. He keeps trying to come up with ways to say, "Bad offensive possession by IU." "Bad shot by IU." He should know by now that's our norm.
  18. Hoosier ladies 74, Toiletmaker ladies 59 At least we won't get swept today.
  19. The PU defense doesn't really have to clamp down all that much -- we couldn't hit a shot if nobody was on defense.
  20. I'm vehemently opposed to Steve Alford coaching at IU -- for myriad reasons. But I'd take him six days a week and seven times on Sunday before I'd hire Andy Enfield. If Andy Enfield is the best we can do, I'd just as soon stick with Archie.
  21. I'm predicting a huge win today -- at least a 15-point margin. It's Senior Day, so maybe 20-25. We have owned the Toiletmakers recently. Oh, this thread is about the PU-IU men's game? Didn't know the lads were playing today. Someone mentioned that the big rivalry game was this afternoon, and I just assumed the reference was to our women. My bad ...
  22. An interesting read. Doesn't really reach a conclusion -- other than Dolson has a lot to consider when pondering Archie's future -- but there's plenty to digest. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-the-archie-miller-question-and-all-that-could-go-into-answering-it/?fbclid=IwAR13dyN-xX9MoJi6aJvoeq4GMNFWw8gvKv06VkLDOrliEiwXsdm-00q9j2w
  23. When I wrote that I'd rather have Tony Bennett than Brad Stevens (and admitted I probably was one of the only ones to think that way), I was just expressing my "ideal world" hypothetical. And I should have added this: I know there's 0 percent chance of Bennett coming. He said no when we hired Crean. Whether he was POed at us for his sister's tenure or he didn't want the "fishbowl" existence of coaching at IU, only he would know for sure. Probably a little of both. P.S. Obviously, anybody is free to respond. But if you don't like Bennett or his style, that's fine. You're not gonna change my mind. I've just seen a handful of posts saying that Bennett isn't a realistic candidate. Yes, I realize that. Again -- I was just saying that if I had my choice of anybody to coach IU, he'd be my No. 1 selection, even over Stevens. Hope everyone has a nice day.
