  1. Not trying to be a smart aleck -- but this confused me. What new team with a new coach had a decent road win?
  2. Kind of an interesting bit of trivia about today's game. Although the use of "coach's" instead of "coaches" has me wondering ...
  3. Iowa had this within reach, then just started taking some bad shots.
  4. Damn, Iowa's got this down to 5.
  5. Kansas is up 19 with 4-plus minutes left at the opening of St. John's new arena. The same St. John's team we needed every second of 40 minutes to beat at AH -- with one of their starters ejected (granted, we lost Galloway on the same play, but I think SJU took the bigger hit).
  6. The Hawkeyes will unleash the Franimal tonight! I can't bear the thought of the Toiletmakers being No. 1 -- though I suppose now is better than at the end of the season.
  7. Pine Bluff coach made his team run sprints during a timeout last night. Surprised RMK never did that!
  8. This reminds me a little of the Arizona game last year. Hung with 'em for most of the game, but just couldn't get outside shots to fall when we needed them.
  9. Someone else needs to step up. Holmes is getting worn out from carrying this team!
  10. I live in Virginia, and did not see this coming ... Both Virginia Tech and U.Va. will have new coaches next season. Ironically, Justin Fuente and Mendenhall started the same year ...
  11. Last season, Northwestern rebounded from a crappy year by using our 32-year-old QB. Maybe we could do the same next year with Nebraska's 32-year-old QB ...
  12. FWIW, A new list of candidates from TDH. Many of these names have been mentioned in this thread ... https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/a-look-at-some-possible-candidates-for-the-iu-football-offensive-coordinator-opening/?fbclid=IwAR1UWQS961cqLVaUl-70IkuDV8inQTZZgjshyp51dV_3lDEbqTQj1_760Sg
  13. He actually coached at IU before -- was OC during DiNardo's final season.
  14. LB Bradley Jennings in for a visit this weekend ... Started at Miami (Florida) two seasons ago, was a reserve this year -- 14 tackles in 8 games. Meh -- doesn't excite me all that much, but what do I know??? We may or may not lose Cam Jones and McFadden, so it could be a position of need.
  15. Hoosiers 69 Huskers (not Hickory) 59
  16. Wow. Nice get for N.C. State -- beat out some real heavyweights (LSU, Kentucky, Memphis, Kansas) for the nation's No. 1 point guard for the class of 2023.
  17. Speaking of coaching hot seats. I just heard a story about a coach who was on the hot seat nearly 40 years ago -- LOL! Rich Eisen said Rod Woodson told him that Lee Corso showed up on his doorstep, told him he had just been fired at IU -- but that he should still go there. It's a nice story, but I'm not sure I buy it. There were no cell phones back then, so it's not like Corso would've been fired mid road trip. He would have known his job status before ever leaving. And Bloomington to Fort Wayne is a day trip -- it seems unlikely Corso would've been on a two- or three-day recruiting excursion. Another thing -- I think the chances of Woodson going to IU were minute at best. From what I recall, he was pretty much a Purdue guy from the get-go.
  18. He's 77. Divorced his first wife and remarried someone significantly younger -- hence the younger boys.
  19. We all know he's not the best FT shooter, but at the end of regulation when he had to make those two to force OT, he stepped up and knocked them down without hesitation. Balls of steel.
  20. 10-4 ... I knew it wasn't under 2 minutes -- but I thought they could go to replay if necessary throughout OT.
  21. I guess I misunderstood the rule. I thought it was under two minutes and anytime after that -- including OT(s).
  22. At that point in the game, can't they review it? Do you have to ask for that? ... Wonder why they didn't.
  23. I think if X -- or even Rob -- is still in the game during that final first OT possession, we win. I think either would've gotten the ball to TJD and he would've either made a bucket or gotten fouled -- and hopefully made at least one FT.
  24. I'd have to see the replay to be sure, but I think Boeheim got him pretty good with the body when Kopp came down. There was no contact on the shot itself, but Boeheim's momentum carried him into Kopp as he landed. ... At least that's what I thought I saw. They weren't big on showing replays tonight.
  25. Kopp actually got fouled pretty good. He didn't get hit on the shot itself, but Boeheim didn't give him room to land and when Kopp came down, there was obvious contact.
