  1. instead of viewing this as a do or die hire, you might have to go out on a little bit of a limb and, what do we really have to to lose at this point in trying out somebody like Kevin Young at BYU or the other obvious ones like McCollum, etc.?
  2. 1. Steven’s/May 2. A young up and coming coach. No thanks on the Older established coaches this cycle. We need high energy and excitement/ longevity infused into this dying, (formerly) mismanaged program IMO
  3. Yeah, it is an odd situation, but it seems like if you were going to hire somebody like BS who wasn’t coaching, the announcement should be sooner the better IMO. That’s why I don’t buy all the stuff about smoke screens because why would that be a slight to Woodson when he already announced his retirement?, and if he cares about Indiana like he says he does, he would want Indiana to get the best coach possible as soon as possible.
  4. What I don’t get is, what’s the big deal about a new coach being announced before the end of the season? I mean, Woody already said he was leaving so that shouldn’t matter at all. Sounds like a big deal about nothing.
  5. Thought that’s why they hired a search firm?
  6. Which, quite frankly seems very strange to me because it seems like BS would do something more classy like address HSN specifically and say something like “I’m very honored that the Indiana fans want me to be their next coach but I am happy in Boston, etc. etc.”, Instead of some Flippin comment texted to some random sports dude.
  7. Dusty, Golden,Oats
  8. I would personally like to see us get a younger coach who could make this place his own and develop some history instead of going for the instant win category.
  9. Could be and if so, shows you where his interest lie and is certainly not on the front line…so if that’s the case, I’m glad he’s not coming.
  10. Maybe BS got cold feet and scared of the challenge or maybe he is comfortable being a behind the scenes office boy in Boston. anyways, I just hope we hire somebody that is fairly youthful and has a lot of passion and BB IQ!!
  11. lol…what a waste of a covid year
  12. Can’t believe Woody didn’t utilize that… we could’ve made a final four run!
  13. Zrno, Steven’s, Sisley..
  14. The reputation here is going to get so bad we might not even be able to buy players in the near future, and I doubt CC lets us use any of the football team.
  15. Hoyberg would do way better with IU nil…he can coach.
  16. I think that in part has to do with the fact that he usually gets called for so many ticky tack fouls. He may be over compensating to some extent, but I don’t think it’s lack of effort.
  17. We’ve probably seen the last of our high school recruits for as long as this drags out.
  18. Yeah, you’re probably right, but I was just thinking of a way of making useful at something he’s good at like maybe schmoozing with recruits parents and taking them out on the golf course, dinners, fine wines etc..:) After all, it does seem that people really like him outside of coaching.
  19. Yeah, well they’re probably worried about his ego taking a hit but in that case, maybe they should just promote him to some type of faux basketball athletic Director like they did with Matta and let him ride off into the sunset.
  20. lol, can’t we at least get a coach in waiting to pay millions to since we have so much to burn?
  21. Probably figured we got over some of that hump today..
  22. This isn’t mediocre, this is plain a#% bad..
  23. I was a give it time and wait-and-see, but I believe it’s time to let Calbert take over the reins until the end of the season…jeez o Pete… that was downright ugly, lackluster, lost, no game plan blah blah blah..
  24. If we unfortunately lost him after one season, I imagine we would wind up with one of the two top assistant coaches..
  25. I am always rooting for the kids to win and have as much success as possible. Coaches are also a work in progress and so when I’m watching a game, I am usually always hoping for the coaching staff to be learning and growing as coaches so that maybe even a bad program can turn the corner. I was always pulling for Allen to make that leap or get it figured out because, I’m a fan. If I were his boss, I would have all the behind-the-scenes variables to calculate a decision whether he should be gone or stay with him, but that’s what makes me just a fan.
