  1. The term “short term bridge”, and then have to rehire someone doesn’t make sense to me anyway shape or form. If I was in charge of such a big time hire, I would be thinking of longevity and the future and someone who is successful at the college level who really understands recruiting the right type of basketball players that you can win championships with who had a track record of doing that. Sounds like the people in charge are in some type of fairytale dreamland and so I would suggest just turn over the hiring process to this board (no need to spend unnecessary tons of money to a hiring firm) and most likely would be smooth sailing from here on out.
  2. What I remember thinking is that he had some major health issues and would probably most likely never coach again so I didn’t even think it was a consideration given all the other options.
  3. That also was not a very good Plan B…jeez
  4. I’d like for it to be Brad also but if not, I just hope we get a good coach. I would find excitement to see a guy like McCollum step up to the big leagues and succeed and create his own culture and make IU his masterpiece.

  6. How does anyone know that?
  7. If there’s any thought to go on the Brownell route, I would say just give the job to Jordan Hulls
  8. lol… sounds like his day is mostly consumed with watching film and being a coach… great idea!

  10. Well, maybe there in lies the problem with coaching at Indiana (if true) and maybe that needs to change. We don’t need a coach being concerned with being the face of Indiana and schmoozing boosters, etc. as much as we need him to focus on doing his job, which is recruiting/coaching basketball and winning games.
  11. Tks for the rundown, but I disagree with the part about “the coach at Indiana needs to be a salesman/politician”. That’s way overblown imo. What we need is a coach who knows basketball and can infuse enthusiasm based on substance…no more bulls#%# snake oil used car salesman crap.
  12. I wonder why that article says he has a small buyout?
  13. I would say that there seems to be a theme that binds coaches like McCollum and Stevens together is the fact that I believe that they are very gifted (savant like) in being able to evaluate talent, and like he said in that one video, it is recruiting the right type of kids with the right attitude/IQ/toughness intangibles that (along with good coaching) win championships. I don’t believe these type of coaches come along very often. BK was still able to win big for a decent part of his career at Indiana with lesser talent and a bunch of Juco transfers … but those guys all fit his system.
  14. He would be the most Cig like higher I can think of
  15. Why would he care about softening our blow?
  16. I sure hope it’s Brad, but I would say that Ben McCollum dude sure does know him some basketball. The fighting Dustys are sure on a skid, yikes!
  17. Ye with little faith..lol
  18. Big deal, times change..duh
  19. The way Ya is pacing the sidelines I think he might be coaching waiting.
  20. And I only root for Indiana, lol. I hope it’s not for lack of resources because she definitely deserves all that she needs
