  1. If not, Brad, I could really get behind a young coach that could create their own culture here over the years and someone with a good personality and a great basketball mind and give them all the resources they need to cook.. I know it would be risky but at this point, I don’t really care, but I could get excited for possibly a Bucky McMillan or an Alan Huss type hire.
  2. Thanks, appreciate the info!
  3. If it doesn’t go as planned, he can do whatever he wants to do because he’ll be a gazillionair.
  4. Yes, he does seem like he’s been around forever lol..and I really do think he’s the best suited for a religious school
  5. That’s true and he has been great for Baylor but not overly impressive lately…he is for sure having a down year..I do not see this as a grand slam hire, but I would give it a B.
  6. I think it’s mostly that I’m pinning my hopes on infusing something young and fresh into the program at this point instead of trying to go for instant winning success for a few years with an older coach. I think it’s great that he is religious, but I also feel that sometimes people at that age can start to have different priorities in life and other things become More important and the passion that he once had is not exactly there anymore and I would rather not take a chance on that. I also feel that he is most likely in a better environment, religiously speaking down there in Baylor than he would be here at Indiana so it doesn’t really make sense to me on that level.
  7. I personally do not like the idea of Scott Drew as the next coach simply because I think he’s fading off a bit and would rather not have a coach that has spent his better years at another school.
  8. Maybe Hulls has a new Boss ;)

  10. I’ve been through that area and you were really in the middle of nowhere, lol, glad you’re gone! Yeah, I don’t remember missing one IU game the whole time I lived down in Oklahoma, but I do remember even back in the 80s It seemed like we were always the underdog in the tourney Playing with a lot of Juco transfer transfers etc. and not really getting very many blue Chip players even back that long ago. I think the movie Hoosiers helped us out a lot too.lol
  11. Yeah, nothing like being held hostage by one BOT member
  12. Good point. I don’t think there are very many college basketball teams with a large fan base that tolerate bad basketball for very long. Like it has already been said, if a coach is worried about the pressure after getting paid millions and millions of dollars they should probably stay out of P5 basketball at an institution like IU. Just curious, are you from Oklahoma? I’m from the region up around Hammond and my mom and stepfather relocated us to broken arrow Oklahoma when I was about 16 and I lived there for about 10 years, unfortunately ..lol
  13. Maybe since we have a football team now we can stop being a fishbowl
  14. If we somehow flounder on the white whale, this is exactly the type of hire I would like to see!
  15. In no way shape or form can I imagine us hiring any of Cronin, Brownell or Beard. That would be a miserable failure for different reasons.imo. Stevens/Otz Mcollum
  16. Does anyone know if the BOT is the final word or is there a way to circumvent them if an AD/President really wanted to make a change?
  17. You would think Michigan would want to broadcast it ASAP if/when it happens.
  18. Last year, even though the BOT voted to keep Woodson for one more year, was there not anyway for Pam Whitten to step in and overturn that considering SD supposedly was wanting to move on Dusty?
  19. If true, that sucks..
  20. I didn’t know that either. He’ll probably have a nice long career there than I guess. Anyways, I sure hope it’s Dusty May because it just seems like a perfect fit and I am putting all my eggs in that basket. Lol
  21. I bet we could top it ;)
  22. OK, I didn’t realize they have that much NIL there. I was surprised to see he makes over 4 mill/year, but I sure like the way they play.
