  1. For Romeo to be waiting to see what Juwan decides, while Juwan waits to see what Romeo decides, don’t you think there’d be a middle man in there (Archie) to say “Hey Juwan, Romeo will come here if you stay, so you’re staying right? You are? Ok great, I’ll let Romeo know.”... “Hey Romeo, Juwan said he plans on staying if you come, so you’re coming right? You are? Ok cool, I’ll let Juwan know.” You would think that if BOTH of them were wondering what each other were doing that it’d be able to be figured out pretty quick. I’m not saying this is how things are happening, just saying that it’s fairly easy to let both sides know what’s happening if both of them are waiting on each other.
  2. Romeo got to see first hand what will always happen if he goes to Vanderbilt to play with Darius....Darius trying to be the show and making stupid decisions instead of passing to a wide open Romeo. Wasn’t the smartest thing to do in that game if you want Romeo to join you at Vandy. I also noticed that Romeo shined the most and made most of his points in that game when Darius was on the bench away from him, not stealing the spotlight. I don’t think any of the 11 assists Darius had involved Romeo getting a bucket, maybe one... (did you notice that as well, Romeo??)
  3. I saw someone say on the other site that supposedly Vandy is gonna do an in-home visit after Romeo visits IU. Let’s say that does indeed happen, would/could an in-home visit be used to tell Vandy no? Knowing New Albany got eliminated before making it to state which resulted in Archie being unable to visit him again, he could strategically make sure he uses his own in-home after Vandy does theirs......if need be, of course.
  4. Ha yep, I didn’t think about looking at the number of followers he had when that post popped up on the iubb twitter feed. Agreed, it’s most likely someone grabbing all these rumors from everywhere and trying to use them to make himself sound legit when it’s stuff we’ve all already heard from various places a time or thousand.
  5. Never seen this twitter account before and not saying this is legit, just passing it along since I happened to see it if no one else has. Could be just someone else posting what they hear from other people who don’t really know anything. https://mobile.twitter.com/sportsprotector/status/976132064595628034
  6. Everyone who has posted comments about getting Crean on their 247 site are excited about the hire and think he is gonna do great things. I figured there would be a mixture of both excitement and disappointment. Even though I’m glad we don’t have him as coach at IU anymore, I guess I do understand how they can think he is a good hire for being a football school. I think he will do well enough to meet most of their expectations. There was one guy who said something like “...will get us to final fours in no time.”....sigh...don’t get your hopes up too quick there bud. https://georgia.247sports.com/Board/19/Contents/Georgia-Bulldogs-Basketball-Tom-Crean-officially-hired-as-Georgias-basketball-caoch-116288440
  7. Good to see him get another gig. He deserves another shot somewhere with expectations that aren’t as high as IU. Fans there should be pleased with what he ought to be able to do there. Now watch Georgia turn into a defensive monster....how messed up would that be?! Haha
  8. Yep, just my opinion here, stepping back and looking at everything we’ve gotten as information up to this point, I’d like to think IU is the leader. Pushing things back until April isn’t a bad thing, he is just wanting to concentrate on winning state, and then getting all the all-star games done and over with. People can think it’s because he truly hasn’t made up his mind, and that very well could be, but I’m gonna go the other direction on that. I like knowing he’s going to announce AFTER playing the McDonald’s AA game instead of at it with Darius being present. He’s gonna be able to to announce and then sign his LOI right away without anyone else trying to get to him to change his mind. Also, Romeo’s father saying the announcement could be at his school or have the mayor included in the announcement is a huge deal. Everyone and their brother is gonna show up to that decked out in IU gear, only for him to say “going to Vandy”?... Ouch. I’d like to think that wouldn’t be the case. I could see the mayor rip off his suit and tie Superman style with an IU shirt underneath when they do the announcement, haha. I highly doubt Romeo’s father mentioning doing it at the school and with the mayor is just blowing smoke and trying to get IU fans to put 2 and 2 together and think “well heck yeah! He’s an IU graduate!! It’s gotta be IU then!” As far as Romeo making another visit to IU with his parents, it could indeed mean he needs pursuaded a bit more, but with all the info I’ve already mentioned, I can see it as a chance to look at the dorms, and meet with an academic advisor about what types of classes he would be taking. He may already know he wants to go to IU, so he wants to get all his ducks in a row and find out other information about the school other than playing basketball. I’ve also seen info in various places that lately during this recruitment, Phinisee has been in more contact with Romeo than what Darius has, which is awesome. (I have no sources on that, just passing on what I’ve seen other people say about it). All in all, it’s exciting times for sure, and even though we have a date of April 13-30 to rely on, most if not all of us will continue to check this thread every 5 minutes of every day to see what else has been said/heard, haha.
  9. I’m sure there is indeed a chance Drew figured Romeo would get past this early game with ease and then plan on showing up for the 8:00 game. Seeing whether or not he actually shows up would be interesting, and if he doesn’t come, wouldn’t that be telling?
  10. I guess if Drew does show up, it shouldn’t be surprising knowing that this weekend COULD be Romeo’s last game. Let’s just hope we are to the point where him showing up doesn’t really matter and affect us too much. Archie will there and then having the 3 players go last weekend was awesome.
  11. Link to video highlights of sectional win where he finished with 34 points and 16 rebounds. Really shows there should be no doubt he starts next year. This kid is gonna ball for IU. http://www.insidethehall.com/2018/03/05/video-iu-signee-robert-phinisee-sectional-highlights-vs-lafayette-jeff/
  12. I saw someone who was there post something (can't remember where i saw it, maybe a twitter comment), about Romeo kinda pushed his way through the media and went over to where they were.
  13. It is indeed pretty cool that Romeo went over to them to acknowledge they were there and say what's up.
  14. I agree that by no means do we have a superstar stud class coming in. However, I do see it as one that will be an instant upgrade in the talent we were missing this season.
  15. That is indeed a fair point that Yogi came in with more talent right off the bat while Phinisee will have unproven freshman to work with, and I totally agree...but I’m still not gonna assume Phinisee is gonna come in and be a project. People can either look at it as unfair expectations, or confidence in the opinion that the class coming in excels the seniors leaving the program.
  16. Phinisee, Hunter, Anderson, Forrester, Thompson > Newkirk, Johnson, Hartman, McSwain, Priller. Obviously getting Romeo is a major upgrade in itself, but the guys we have coming in immediately fix the biggest issue we had this season, which was shooting. I know it seems out of the realm to think Phinisee can come right in and excel at the point his freshman year, but if Yogi can do it, why can’t he? Yes, I know, Yogi was regarded as the higher class recruit coming in than what Phinisee is, but still doesn’t dismiss the fact that Phinisee isn’t going to be able to do it as well. It’s obviously gonna be a wait and see type of thing, and nothing is guaranteed, but to say I’m excited about what our roster could look like next season is an understatement.
  17. We will definitely be better next year and can officially witness an Archie recruited team. Not only do we have guys coming in who can shoot (which that in itself is a major plus and repair what needed fixed this season), but we have a group of players who committed to playing for Archie who right off the bat will fit his style and buy into what he wants to do. I appreciate what our seniors and whoever else who may decide to transfer for what they’ve done at IU, but knowing next year’s team is going to pretty much get a complete reboot and fresh new faces is an exciting thing and I can’t wait.
  18. It’s gonna drive me nuts to lose this game and then see Purdue beat them by 40.
  19. Playing like this makes me lean towards the “can’t wait until next season” thinking...
  20. Rutgers definitely is pushing off
  21. 2017-18 Hoosiers: quickest shift from saying “I hope they keep playing this year, they deserve it, fun to watch.”.... to...“WTF!! I hope we just lose! Next season can’t get here quick enough!”....most frustrating team ever, ha. I think I’m right down the middle and can’t make up my mind, lol
  22. Annnnd, Archie’s gonna do some yellin’ in the locker room....as he should.
  23. That was a lazy ridiculous pass by Green. He does those well.
  24. There Newkirk, you got your chance, now sit back down.
  25. Dear Lord, I love that we have Archie.
