I think it's crap that SMU is ahead of IU. I hope that isn't the case with the CFP committee. Right now, I think IU lands as the 10 seed and would play at...Notre Dame. I think the last spot could come down to this: ACC Championship game loser (Miami or SMU) against Clemson/South Carolina winner. I would side with SMU or Miami.

My guess at the bracket Tuesday 1) Oregon 2) Texas 3) Miami 4) Boise State 5) Ohio State 6) Penn State 7) Notre Dame 8) Georgia 9) IU 10) Tennessee 11) SMU 12) Arizona State I still think SEC gets a 4th team in. If SMU loses in ACC title game I think they would be out.

Worst part about the loss is that it had all the ingredients at the start for IU to win this game: Stopped OSU on opening possession. Drove down, made it 7-0. Goal Line Stand. Huge Red Zone INT. Thought if it was 7-7 going into half you have to feel good. Dropped snap changed everything. Ohio State is obviously the much better team. I think OSU along with Oregon are the two best teams in college football. Screw the SEC... I still love this team. I hate that the 2nd half was their worst football all year. Knew as soon as the PR TD happened the game was probably over. Still think this is a playoff team. I think they will be ranked 9th (10 seed) or 8th (9 seed) if Bama loses. -

Sorry I know it's not a pick thread but I haven't participated all year. Would rather post here. I got IU winning 24-21. Reasons why: 1) I really do believe that for probably the first time ever Indiana has a better coaching staff than Ohio State. I've never been a fan of Ryan Day. I think a lot of his success he owes to Urban Meyer. Once it started being "his guys" in 2021 he could never get by Michigan. Having to hire Chip Kelly as an offensive coordinator tells you all you need to know about him. I just get fake tough guy vibes from him. 2) I think the Indiana defensive line is going to have a field day tomorrow. I was at the Michigan game. The #1 thing that stood out to me was that Indiana was living in Michigan's backfield all game. I know Michigan's OLine isn't great. But OSU it sounds has some trouble up front. The key on defense all year has been to get the offense into 3rd and 7 plus. 3) Indiana needs to get off to a great start. Can't have a situation where Ohio State gets the ball first, drives down the field, and makes it 7-0. Get them as nervous as possible. Indiana is most likely in with a loss. Ohio State is around 100% with a win and 83% with a loss (according to ESPN). I think we see a combination of the Nebraska/Washington game. Offensive gets a good drive and makes it 7-0 or defense gets a huge turnover. -

Yes. There is a reason that Ohio State spent $$$ to get a replacement. -

Yes and that certainly helps them. However, they will have whoever is their third string guard in at left guard. How does that impact Donovan Jackson who has only started a few games at left tackle. Those who know say McLaughlin was their best offensive lineman. Drop off may not be as massive, but I wonder how the left side looks. Should be fun. Even Nick Saban said today that IU's DLine is underrated. -

I really think that center for OSU going down is going to be huge considering they already lost their two top left tackles. I've heard numerous folks nationally and OSU say it's a major loss. I'm no OLine expert but it's going to be hard to throw a new guy out there when they haven't played together. Pretty sure Kamara and Carpenter are on watch lists for their respective positional awards. Again, Kamara should be the B1G DPoy. Carpenter at least 2nd Team All-Big Ten. Add in CJ West too and I can see it being a long day for OSU. -

Let me rephrase that: He's never coached in a top 5 game before as a head coach. Yes, every game is a big one lol. -

Here is one storyline I have not really heard about: Ryan Day is 3-7 against top 5 teams. I'm pretty sure most of those wins are against Penn State who also has a coach that wets the bed in big games. I am a Dallas Cowboys fan. They are horrible in big games (Have been for 28 years). When the talent is equal or better, they just lose. That doesn't change. The biggest game Ryan Day has ever won was the 2020 Sugar Bowl beating Clemson. Ohio State can certainly win as they are the favorite. However, it's been shown Ryan Day has struggled in these big games. Now, this is the first big game Cig has ever coached in as a head coach. We will see what he can do in this type of game. -

Two guys I hope ball out Saturday for obvious reasons: Kurtis and Kamara. I think both are being disrespected in the NFL draft talk. You can argue Kurtis should be the B1G Player of the Year and Kamara the B1G DPOY. Kiper actually has Kamara as the 6th best DE and Kurtis I think as the 8th/9th QB. Would love to see their draft stock sky rocket after this game. IMO they've been IU's two best players all year. I think the Heisman is Travis Hunter's to lose but I can see Kurtis finishing top 3. -

I HATE injuries. Their OL had been meh most of year. I know they moved Jackson to LT and that kind of helped. -
Last week's CFP Rankings were by far the most important for Indiana and here is why: Indiana jumped from 8 to 5 after by far their worst performance of the year against Michigan. The CFP committee could have easily kept them at 8. Instead, they jumped Tennessee who had won that same week against Mississippi State. Right now, Indiana would have to fall behind Tennessee to miss the CFP. Just wouldn't make sense. Everything so far has told me this: The committee really likes this Indiana Football team. Hate to say this, but the thing that ends this entire debate: Army beats Notre Dame.

Kind of ironic Joey wants IU to sit their best player against his alma mater. He scared?
-
This. It is hard to go undefeated. Ask Miami and BYU who lost games they were favorites in. That's why it should matter what IU is doing. Galen on Crimson Cast did research. Said that the lowest an 11-1 team has ever been ranked in the final CFP poll was 7th. That puts it into perspective.
-
What is hilarious is if anyone bought a football team, it's the one team IU is playing this weekend (Chip Kelly, Will Howard, Judkins, Downs, etc).
-
I'm kind of the same way..my heart says IU and my gut says OSU in a close one. We will see how I feel throughout the week lol. What is crazy is Indiana just had their way with the Michigan defense for the first half. Stupid PI call and it's likely 21-3. For the life of me I don't understand what adjustments Michigan made for them to only score 3 points in the second half. It certainly all starts up front. I don't think OSU has the Defensive Tackles Michigan had. Graham and Grant both projected top 20 picks. A quick start I think is necessary. Can't play from behind all game.
-
I don't like to bet a lot of $$ but I already got it at IU +10.5 somewhere. I threw down more than I normally would. Depending on which Sportsbook, IU is either 8-2 or 9-1 ATS this year. Ohio State is like 4-6 or 5-5. Only game I know IU for sure did not cover in was Michigan. FIU, again it depends which sportsbook. Regardless, 8-2/9-1 is the best ATS among any Power 4 conference teams.

Here is the biggest reason why I think Indiana has a very good chance to win Saturday: IU is playing with house money. They're not supposed to be here at 10-0. They are the 10 point underdogs. Ohio State has everything to lose. Anything less than a National Championship this season is a failure. Ryan Day had to bring in Chip Kelly and spend New York Yankees like $$ to have a great team because he could not get by Michigan and the other top teams in college football. The opening series of the game will tell me how the rest of the game will go. Indiana has to get early momentum in this game. It could be getting Ohio State off the field or a nice 8 play drive that ends in a touchdown. I hope they take a deep shot early on them. Maybe even at some point in the game when the time is right, go for it on 4th down. Indiana has to have the mindset that they have to win by 10 points. Just from watching enough of both teams I cannot believe it is a 10-12 point spread. Ohio State -6.5 would sound reasonable.
-
In 2020 I thought IU could hang with Ohio State (and they did towards the end of that game). This year I think they can actually win it.
-
Unfortunately Purdue probably evens it all out. Those clowns are the only B1G team right now that is completely out of a bowl game.
-
Only scenario that worries me...IU loses by 20 plus at Ohio State and beats Purdue by only 7 points or so. I don't think either happens. While I didn't agree with it, FSU got snubbed because their QB was out. If he was healthy I don't think they get left out.
-
I'd be more worried if Indiana was still 8th this week. They jumped one loss Tennessee who has better wins and probably a tougher schedule. I see no way they fall from 5 overall to all the way out of the playoff....as long as IU beats Purdue LOL
-
Imagine if SMU, Colorado, and Boise State win their leagues...You could have 3 seeded Boise State, 4 seeded SMU and 12 seeded Colorado.
-
Here is what will be interesting...if the favorites win out it'll be 11-1 Texas vs. 10-2 Bama (They get the tiebreaker) in the SEC title game. Should Bama lose do they get punished for losing that game? Looking like based on odds it'll be 10-2 Georgia, 10-2 Tennessee, 10-2 Ole Miss and maybe 10-3 Alabama. One of those teams gets left out unless Notre Dame loses. Two of those teams get left out if BYU is 12-0 and loses their conference title game. Insane.
-
Yes. Let them in automatically. But don't give them a bye. Whoever is the 5 seed is rolling to the semifinals.
