  1. Agree...am I crazy to think this...is it better to lose the Big Ten Title game? You'd be #5 seed. Probably play Boise State at home and be a heavy favorite. Then play ACC or Big 12 champ (which could be Colorado) at a neutral site. #1 seed probably plays an SEC team at a neutral site.
  2. Bingo. I'm thrilled with tonight's ranking. Even if IU gets blown out I can't see them getting left out if they are 5. They jumped Tennessee which surprised me. I was wondering if BYU would jump IU. I think the committee likes this Indiana team. Tennessee faces a must win at Georgia. I think they get left out if they lose Saturday. 10-2 Bama and Georgia get in. With Ole Miss beating Georgia I think they get in too.
  3. Could be wrong but I don't think Ponds is eligible yet. I don't think Kurtis is first round material but I can easily see a team taking him in the third round. I'd take him over someone like Carson Beck. Kamara has just impressed me. He just makes plays. Maybe he's just a really good college player. He should be a front runner for B1G DPOY. I think he has one more year left, but again could be wrong. Agree that Katic and Smith could get drafted. All good for the program. Would be neat to consistently send 4-5 guys to the draft each year. Future is bright. Lots of Talent could be coming back...Surratt, Cooper, 3 starting OL guys, Fisher, Ponds, Ferrell, maybe Kamara?
  4. I find it kind of odd too but I won't complain for the OSU game. Would rather it be 12:00 than 7:30 on the road.
  5. I think it is at -9.5 on Fan Duel. Felt like it went down. Was Ohio State around -12.5 I thought.
  6. Bingo. The big hitters get it. IF Indiana had won most of their games like this did this last Saturday, I get it. They're 9-1 ATS this year. And they're just blowing teams out.
  7. Narrative already starting about a 10-2 SEC team in over "11-1" IU. Disrespect is real. I know Cig will use it as motivation which they really don't need anymore. Man wouldn't it be nice to beat Ohio State so they can shut everyone up? I don't understand the love affair with the SEC this year. Big Ten has 4 of the top 5 teams. IF IU were to lose to OSU, Ohio State is ahead of them. Indiana shouldn't drop that far. If 11-1 IU gets left out, there are still major issues with how the champion is decided in this sport. Florida State should NOT have been left out last year. I don't care that they probably lose to Michigan by 40 in the Rose Bowl. Think of March Madness. The 4 "best" teams don't always get the 1 seed. It's based off resume. Ex: 2023 UConn two years ago. They were like a 4 seed. Lots of betting markets had them going to the Final 4. However, their resume was a 4 seed, not a 1 seed. I don't see how 10-2 Ole Miss can get in over IU. Also, if we are going by "eye test" Tennessee has not been as impressive. Really good team, but can't put them over IU.
  8. Wanted to compare NFL talent on defense between Michigan and Ohio State per ESPN..found this to be interesting: Michigan #2 Mason Graham DT #3 Will Johnson DB (DNP vs. IU) #20 Kenneth Grant DT #69 Josiah Stewart Edge Ohio State #28 Tyleik Williams DT #37 Davison Igbinosun DB #50 JT Tuimoloau Edge #67 Jack Sawyer Edge #94 Denzel Burke DB Going to be another great challenge. I thought Grant was our biggest pain yesterday. Zero IU players in their top 100. I know nothing about the evaluation process but Rourke and Kamara should be on that list.
  9. 100% agree. Very happy with that 2nd half. As IU fans we have no choice this season but to get behind this team and coach. Let's see how it all plays out before we reach judgement. This is a very talented team.
  10. 2nd half is what I expect to see the rest of this non-conference slate with these kind of opponents. This team is way too talented to underachieve this year. The top 8 guys (Rice, Carlyle, Mgbako, Reneau, Ballo, Galloway, Goode, Tucker) are as good as any in the country. Results need to start happening. Today was a good start.
  11. My 4th all time IU football game for me. Went to one in 2012, 2016, and around 2019. This game was on a different planet. I've been to Bowl games before but talk about a BIG time college football atmosphere. I'm an NFL guy first but I'm slowly moving toward College Football being tied with the NFL for me. 1) Bloomington was buzzing early. We got into town around 11:30, 4 hours before kick off. It was bumper to bumper. 2) Tailgating is much better when you know people. Was able to stop by a few nice tailgates. 3) The Walk is pretty cool. I've seen it on TV before and IU has a very nice Gameday tradition there. 4) Love that the crowd was pretty much inside the stadium around 3:00. As far as the game goes, Rourke's TD pass to Surratt was right in front of us. Thought the game would be over then and the blowout was on. Did not realize IU had a missing offensive lineman. Michigan's front 7 is no joke. I think they have 4 high draft picks in that group. ESPN has Graham as the #1 player in the entire '25 draft class as of now. They just killed IU. Hope we don't see another front like that. Coach Cig said this but I'm glad that this game was at home. I think the crowd made a huge difference. Love that they had a hard fought win and the bye week is perfect timing. I had a few buddies texting me throughout the game complaining, even after the game. Anyone that is complaining look at it this way: What if on November 9, 2023 we told you that IU in one year from today would beat Michigan by 5 and would be 10-0 on the season. Anyone would have taken that. Yes, it's awesome to beat Michigan by 5 and still feel this team did not play well. But ask Georgia, LSU, and Miami if they'd like a 5 point win over their opponents today. Last thing, IU should be 6 on Tuesday's poll. Tennessee, who will probably by 5, will likely be an underdog at Georgia next week. It is possible that in two weeks you have #5 IU @ #2 Ohio State...would that be the biggest game in the history of IU football?
  12. Anyone else going to the game. Looks like typical B1G weather in November. 60, cloudy.
  13. Keep an eye on UK-Tennessee. UK at midfield down 3.
  14. This has been a PERFECT weekend for IU.. Penn State loses. Iowa State loses. Clemson down big. Need SC to hang on and IU will be in the top ten Tuesday. Heisman wise: Klubnik having a bad game should make Kurtis pass him on the Heisman odds. IMO only Hunter, Jeanty, Gabriel, and Ward should be ahead of Kurtis. He's top 5.
  15. NFL has a serious problem with how QB's are evaluated. I think this started in 2010 when Tebow was picked in the 1st round and 2011 with Locker/Gabbert. Anthony Richardson doesn't get drafted in the 2000's after his junior year. Certainly not #4 overall. IMO Kurtis should be a top 100 draft pick. I'm awful with the "attributes" they look for. If he goes to the right franchise, maybe sits and learns for a year or two, he can be a starter.
  16. 1) Stubborn me listened to the game on the Varsity App instead of Peacock. Glad I did. Was a beautiful day outside. Got to be out with the kids and listen to this a** kicking. Fish and Suhr are awesome. 2) Kind of thought sooner rather than later we'd see this team face adversity. Last week with Kurtis out. This week being down 10-0. They passed the test. 3) If Kurtis Rourke keeps playing at a high level, he better be in NYC on December 14th... 4) I have zero clue how good of a pro he would be, but Mikail Kamara is an NFL talent. I think he is Indiana's second best player. 5) You can't convince me that Iowa State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and maybe even Penn State are better than IU. Will be interesting to see where they are ranked Tuesday. It would be one thing if IU won a lot of 20-17, 23-20, 24-17 kinda games. But they're not. Closest game was 31-17 with our backup QB. 6) Can't wait to be at the Rock Saturday!!
  17. Huge news. Nothing against Tayven I still think IU would win but if your Heisman candidate of a QB can play that's fantastic.
  18. Watched Michigan State-Michigan Saturday night for a bit. Those are two very average 6-6 like football teams. Even if Kurtis doesn't play, as long as the team steps up like they did Saturday, Indiana should win by 10 plus. Game will be won in the trenches with Kurtis or with Tayven. Indiana is #2 in B1G in Rush yards. Michigan State is #12 in the B1G against the run. On the flip side, Michigan State #13 in rush yards, IU is #1 against the run. Outside of Iowa, Michigan State has looked meh this year. If this was a primetime game, I'd be a little more worried. If Kurtis can play, play him. If there are doubts still, I'm fine with Jackson. That the vibe I got yesterday from reading different quotes and pieces.
  19. No we live in Evansville. Very easy drive. So if we need to leave early we can.
  20. Yes, it was right around the UCLA game when I felt the itch to go to a game. Told my wife we probably need to buy the tickets in advance. Glad we did.
  21. We are in row 5 by one of the end zones..look like great seats. Tickets were $60 a piece. Now they're over $200 so a good deal too.
  22. I'm going to try that. Looks like a great location...right by baseball/softball fields correct?
  23. How much is it to park there? Thanks for the tips.
  24. Mods..sorry if this is the wrong thread. Going to Michigan-IU on November 9th. Thanks to stupid TV rules they won't announce game time until Saturday night. That being said I'm sorry for all the questions but I'd like to make the most of it. It could be a big day...they have a chance to set the program records for most wins in a season. 1) What do you recommend for parking? My assistant principal is a season ticket holder and gave me some advice on lots/churches nearby. I don't care to walk. When I last went me and a few buddies parked on Kirkwood and drank/walked the entire way. 2) If it's a night game is it even worth trying to get lunch somewhere? Nick's is usually my go to. OR if it's a Noon kick is it worth trying to get food after? My A.P. said no just get food around the stadium/inside stadium. 3) How early do you recommend getting to the Memorial Stadium area? I have a few friends that are going to tailgate with my wife and I. I'd like to mingle around with some other friends that will be there. I'd like to try and watch the walk and check out the BTown Blvd as well. I figured 3-4 hours before kickoff. 4) Any other advice? Based on Peegs the restrooms/concessions suck at Memorial Stadium. I noticed on TV the last few weeks a long line to get into the stadium before the game. Figure an hour before kickoff is when we need to start heading in. Thanks for all the help. It's my birthday gift this year. Never did I think going to an IU Football game would be my preferred gift lol. I have a feeling it's going to be 12:00/8:00 on FOX or 3:30 on CBS. I'm leaning towards Primetime or CBS...haven't had either of those really this year outside the Friday game.
  25. We have tickets for this game. First IU football game I've been to since covid. A little ridiculous they can't come up with a game time. Would be nice if they narrowed it down to two time slots.
