  1. I think March 18th is the earliest we hear something. If Woodson is back they'll 100% release a statement or something.
  2. This stuff is getting leaked for a reason. It'll be interested to see how it all plays out. I think Dolson ends up getting his way.
  3. Plus..what Trilly said last night. IU would basically lose everyone from this current team. Malik, Trey, probably Mgbako. Guys we want back. That has to factor in.
  4. I'm sorry but if Dolson has Bruce Pearl lined up and ready to go, no way Woodson is back. Buckner can cry about it all he wants but they would lose this program. I would support other IU varsity sports. I'd find another college basketball program to support too like a USI or UE...this is ridiculous and I can't believe it is actually a serious conversation. Bruce Pearl...a man whose track record shows he could turn this program around, wants to come here. But we want to keep a guy who has zero momentum? I think the pressure will only get worse..especially if they lose these next few games.
  5. I picture a hearing like in Animal House. Buckner is Dean Wormer. The Delta's are all the Peegsters, BTownBanners, IU fans.
  6. I'm betting Dolson wins this one in the end. He's the AD for the future. Buckner is almost gone from the board anyway...I sure hope the rest of the trustees can see this frustration with the fans.
  7. Folks, it's going to be an interesting two weeks..We will see who wins out in the end. It's obvious at this point the athletic department wants a change.
  8. This. 100%. I don't think I've ever seen him go at it like this.
  9. Yep. Earliest I could see an announcment is two weeks from today. Crean was fired 2 days after their season ended. Archie I think was 4. I love reading the board and thinking of what ifs/what's going on but until it happens...
  10. My friend that played for Bruce Pearl said this exact thing to me. It's why he is hesitant to think Bruce is coming to IU.
  11. Assembly Call went into this in great detail last week. What does Woodson have to point to going forward? Liam? Crean (while he had 3 awful years) had Zeller coming in, Yogi/Hollowell the following year, and at the time Blackmon and Lyles. That and some decent young pieces like Watford/Hulls. Things seemed on the rise and the next two years were good. Archie's team makes the tournament in 2020 if not for Covid. Trayce was coming back. Also had a "5 star PG" coming the following year. Things seemed on the rise. Look at Juwan Howard's record at Michigan. That is where IU is 100% headed. I believe Chris along with Trilly and even Rabjohns...if Dolson has Pearl lined up to be coach, and this admin decides to keep Woodson...I give up. If there was nobody that wanted this job, fine. Keep him for year 4. But it sounds like that isn't the case.
  12. Rabjohn's said Friday he didn't think it would have an impact but I find it hard to believe. Imagine if they win these next two and a few games in the B1G Tournament. Season ending on a positive note could very well keep him back even though there is no long term plan.
  13. If Quinn Buckner doesn't think Bruce Pearl would be a great get, he has ZERO business having any say in basketball decisions at Indiana University. Unfortunately I think is is more so Dolson is bypassing him given the support he would have. I'll add in the fact that if anyone at Indiana University doesn't think Bruce would be a great fit, they have zero business having any say in the basketball decisions. If IU were to land Pearl it would be one of the top 4 happiest moments of my fandom: 1) Beating Duke in the 02 Sweet 16 2) The Wat Shot 3) Winning the B1G outright in 2013
  14. I'm guessing the administration told Dolson he better have someone lined up as well as a legit backup plan. Idc what anyone says I still believe Dolson thought Stevens was coming in 2021 and that caused this hire to happen. Woodson's name didn't even come up until the second week of the search after all the Stevens noise died off. I still hope that the university and Woodson agree to just part ways at the end of the year and he doesn't have to be fired. For the 1000 time I'll say: Mike Woodson isn't getting fired because of the results this season. He would get fired because there is no long term plan for this program. '24 and '25 were supposed to be his classes. One recruit signed and 2025 doesn't seem any better. Living through the portal isn't a success plan. I'm not even certain he could do that. Look at this season for example. It was well known IU would have to hit a few home runs in the portal. Really only one in Kel'el.
  15. haha I got a good laugh out of it when I sat down. Just sad...Watched a lot of games last night (Michigan State-Purdue, Houston-Oklahoma, Tennessee-Bama..even Arkansas-Kentucky)...they're playing a different game than IU.
  16. Went to the NFL Combine yesterday. On the way back, we stopped at Mother Bear's. As I sit down I see the big TV at the Bar has the Auburn game on..wasn't like it was on CBS or big ESPN. I think that's a sign folks..
  17. Woodson saying that is like saying if Guy-Marc Michel was elgible, there would be a 6th banner in Assembly Hall.
  18. That's the argument Rabjohn's was saying today. It's a poor way to build a program. It's like an NFL team. You build through the draft and supplement where you have needs. I think in college basketball you recruit, develop, and at the end of the season find glaring needs. Unfortunately this program needs just about everything.
  19. Why Bruce Pearl is my #1 choice. He changes the culture everywhere he goes (Note: I'd take Dusty May in a heartbeat too.) Southern Indiana: Leads them to their best seasons ever. They made 6 NCAAD2 Tournaments before him. Pearl took them to 9, went to two Elite 8's (essentially the Final Four of D2 basketball) and 1 title. He's a legend there. Also left the program in really good shape as they made the Final game in 2004. Milwaukee: Never made it to the tournament before Pearl. He takes them to their first ever Sweet 16. Made the tournament another time as well. Won 3 league titles. Left the program in good shape. They won a game in the 2006 tournament. Tennessee: First ever Elite 8, #1 ranking. Three Sweet 16's, made the tournament every year he was there. Didn't leave it in as good of shape, but didn't wreck it. Martin took them to a Sweet 16 in 2014 and then Barnes took over not too long after. Auburn: Only 1 Elite 8 before Pearl. He took them to the Final Four and came very very close to making the final game. Since 17-18 they've been a tournament team every year. Won 3 league titles. Only negative was it took him a few years to get going. Maybe because of sanctions or being out of coaching for a bit. Indiana Unversity Basketball needs a culture change. We've tried just about every avenue (Hot name at a big time university in Sampson, energetic Coach in Crean, Hot mid major coach in Archie, and the alum in Woodson) It's time to hire a 100% proven guy. Don't get me wrong, I think May is more proven than Archie was.. That being said, I'm not saying Pearl will win a National Title here or even a final four. It's incredibly challenging to do. But his track record tells me: 1) He will change the culture 2) He will compete for Big Ten Championships 3) IU would be a perrenial top 25 team that has a chance to make a deep run in March 4) The program will proabably be in good shape after he leaves. If IU hires Pearl, I feel confident in saying that in 2024-2025 they would be a top 25 and competing for a Big Ten Title. From talking to a friend that would be in the know, it sounds like Pearl really wants to win a National Championship and may feel that Indiana Unversity gives him a good shot at that. Idk it it will happen, but it sounds like there is good interest.
  20. Rabjohns said last night that they better not waste anytime. When the season ends, I sure hope a decision is made somewhat soon. I know if Kentucky gets out of the tournament early, there will be calls to fire Cal. They'd absolutely go for a Bruce Pearl.
  21. It really does sound like IU is Pearl's dream job. Look at what he said about IU before they played Auburn back in December. Also, I don't ever really remember Rabby being that bold saying what he said about Pearl wanting the job..He never did that with Stevens or even Woodson and Miller.
  22. This is a fact. You can tell he's sick of it.
  23. For me.. only years IU has made the second weekend or beyond...2002, 2012, 2013, 2016. Thank you Tom Crean lol.
  24. Goodman I think broke the Archie news. If I remember right, IU released a statement about Crean right when first round games were tipping off. Unfortunately we will have to wait a few weeks. March 14 is the earliest this could happen.
