How much does the selection committee value head to head matchups when seeding teams that have similar resumes? Purdue beat both of those teams but that was way back early in the season. I also kind of hope Purdue gets the last 1 seed instead of the top 2 seed so they aren't in the Louisville region. That would increase the chances of IU getting to play a possible Sweet 16 and Elite 8 game in Louisville. The place would be packed with cream and crimson.

(2020) SG Trey Galloway To IU
hoosiersoxfan replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He reminds me a ton of the other player from Dipo's recruiting class Will Sheehey. Hard nosed relentless defender that gets in the opponents head and improving offensive player every season. -
To be fair I'm not sure who you would have moved ahead of Purdue. Maybe Marquette but they have 1 more loss and Purdue beat them head to head early in the season. At this point rankings are meaningless. A week from now all anyone will be thinking about is conference tournaments and what seed their team will get in the big dance and where their team will be heading to play on March 12th.

IU is in 5th right now based on tie breakers. They are 1-3 combined against the other teams tied for 2nd place currently.

Is that Michigan State/Minnesota game expected to be made up? I assume they would have to rearrange other games next week since MSU is scheduled to play Tuesday and Minnesota not until Thursday.

What a beast. Early in the season my friends and I were discussing who had a better IU career, TJD or DJ White. At the time we all agreed it was a tough choice but now that isn’t even close.

I think people are forgetting how awesome Johnson played down the stretch last year. He also had a really good game in the win at Xavier earlier this season. He’s an excellent defender, good passer, and was becoming reliable from 3 point range. I just hope he comes back soon so he has time to get his game legs back under him and also chemistry back with his teammates before the big games in March begin.

That'll be 7 weeks since the injury. Looks like he had the surgery the following Wednesday. Either way he must be getting close. Maybe we see him play next week for the Rutgers or Michigan game.

Can’t wait to be matched up against Houston in 6/11 matchup in what the committee will claim is a coincidence -
Bracketology and Team Resumes

Looks like Kentucky could be a 2 seed which would mean we would somehow have to be moved up to a 10 seed for a possible second wrong matchup with them. Could definitely see the committee doing that. The plus side is that would most likely mean playing the first two rounds in Indy. -
BTT Game Thread: Indiana vs. Iowa 3/12 - 1 pm on CBS
hoosiersoxfan replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The boys fought their ***** off for 3 straight days. Took a stud lottery pick catching fire, couple defensive lapses, and a fluke 3 to knock us out. Hopefully the rest does the team some good. I’m pumped to watch them play in the big dance next week. We as a fan base and of course this roster really deserve it after working hard for years and finally seeing some results. -
Who is the 1 seed next week if Illinois beats Iowa tonight? I was hoping IU would get a crack at Wisconsin if they won the 8/9 game. Don’t like our chances against Cockburn and the Illini as much. Especially if Johnny Davis is out.

He was 0-6 on 3s this season. He spent all his time down low or setting screens, he was not playing on the wing.
-
Any idea if we’ve been in contact with Mitchell? From the games I watched UMass I thought he wasn’t even that far off from being as good as TJD. He’d immediately be our second best player.

The loss to Maryland where they blew the lead in the last minute was stands out to me. Brutal turnovers (I think by Al Durham) and then Jalen Smith taunting the crowd.

Candidate Thread: Porter Moser
hoosiersoxfan replied to Henryville Hoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
All you hoping it's not Moser should be rooting for Underwood to wind up at Texas. If he does the Moser would 100% be the next Illinois coach. I've also heard rumblings for weeks that Krutwig has been planning on grad transfering for his extra year to Illinois. -
Candidate Thread: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)

That the game last night was his final one coaching Boston. He's coaching right now though so that was clearly wrong. -

Well obviously I was given incorrect info last night so I'm sorry about that everyone. I do know that a lot of the coaches are close and the IU job is a hot topic of conversation between them. We'll see if he ends up being right other than the timeline. I don't see any reason he would have made it up though.
