Think before I go to bed for the night I’ll go pick out what I’m going to Ware tomorrow…

Love is a shot chucker but a very talented player. With the right coaching he could be as good as any college guard in the country.

Looking at this box score and seeing the game Xavier Johnson had is depressing. What could have been this year had he stayed healthy.

Dusty May - FAU HC - Former IU student manager

Lets say Woody stays for 3-4 more seasons, who knows who the hot coaching name we are hopeful about is by then. Hopefully people don't go too crazy praying for someone like Billy Donovan or Brad Stevens again. I doubt our next hire is any assistant on the current coaching staff. Did we even hear the real reason that Fife left? Did him and Woodson just not mesh? -
Any Chance Purdue and Matt Painter Part Ways?
hoosiersoxfan replied to Herotime's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I agree they were better last year. Ivey was a top 5 pick, Hunter could D any guard up, Trevion Williams was a solid post player, and Stefanovic was an excellent shooter. Also Edey coming off the bench is a crazy weapon. They blew a better shot and making the Final 4 last year than they had this season even with a 1 seed IMO. -
Losing Xavier Johnson this year didn't help either. I'm not sure what happened with Geronimo, maybe it was health, but he took a major step back from the way he played at the end of last season. He seemed to always be getting caught out of position and leaving the man he was guarding wide open. The way he played at the end of last season he would have been a perfect fit last night to try to slow down Miami's athletic wings.

IUBB 2023 B1G Tournament March 8-12, 2023

This has to be the last of him we hear this season right? Games are done for the year on BTN after tonight. -
Maybe how the old big east used to be set up. 4 teams get a bye, 4 get double bye, other 8 get no byes. Having 16 teams with no byes would mean 8 first round matchups. Would need to split the first round up either over 2 days or 2 arenas in 1 day.

IUBB 2023 B1G Tournament March 8-12, 2023

Anyone know if there are designated sections for IU fans at the United Center for Friday night? Looking to go with some friends and ideally be sitting around other IU fans. I didn't see anything on the IU website about being able to order through them, looks like just some left on ticketmaster in the upper deck and then the rest available through stubhub. -

Keep in mind the game right before us in that session is Northwestern v possibly Illinois. Both their fanbases will have a ton of tickets to our game. If they decide to stick around I guarantee none of them will be rooting for IU no matter who we play. -
It wasn’t the tournament final but still huge upset
-
Not for the double bye. IU win and they don’t play til Friday. Seeding would depend on what Iowa and NW do though.
-
Correct or Nebraska to upset Iowa in Iowa City. Any of those 3 outcomes + IU win gives them the double bye.

Bracketology and Team Resumes

How does if Minnesota somehow upsets Rutgers tonight effect all of this? I imagine that would change tiebreaker scenarios -
The most likely scenario they need to get a double bye is Penn State beating Maryland this weekend. Michigan winning tonight at Illinois would also help as would Nebraska somehow upsetting Iowa in Iowa City. This all depends on IU taking care of business against Michigan of course.

THIS IS MARCH

Burn the game tape, run them hard at practice, and get them ready for Michigan on Sunday. Teams have games where they lays eggs but it really sucks it happened so late in the season. Also stinks because they most likely won't get the double bye next week now unless they win and get some help in other games.

Bracketology and Team Resumes

He's got us as a 4 seed in his new bracket today. Purdue still at a 1 but I've seen a lot of that. Sounds like it could come down to PU and UCLA for the last 1 seed. -
How much does the selection committee value head to head matchups when seeding teams that have similar resumes? Purdue beat both of those teams but that was way back early in the season. I also kind of hope Purdue gets the last 1 seed instead of the top 2 seed so they aren't in the Louisville region. That would increase the chances of IU getting to play a possible Sweet 16 and Elite 8 game in Louisville. The place would be packed with cream and crimson.

(2020) SG Trey Galloway To IU
hoosiersoxfan replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
He reminds me a ton of the other player from Dipo's recruiting class Will Sheehey. Hard nosed relentless defender that gets in the opponents head and improving offensive player every season. -
To be fair I'm not sure who you would have moved ahead of Purdue. Maybe Marquette but they have 1 more loss and Purdue beat them head to head early in the season. At this point rankings are meaningless. A week from now all anyone will be thinking about is conference tournaments and what seed their team will get in the big dance and where their team will be heading to play on March 12th.
-
IU is in 5th right now based on tie breakers. They are 1-3 combined against the other teams tied for 2nd place currently.
-
Is that Michigan State/Minnesota game expected to be made up? I assume they would have to rearrange other games next week since MSU is scheduled to play Tuesday and Minnesota not until Thursday.
