  1. It's one thing to troll the fans but its another to spill negativity towards the coach and team, which is what he has done so much of since Archie and not Alford was hired. Clearly sour grapes all the way. I wish we would ban him from doing games in AH. He doesn't deserve it with how much bashing he does of the program on social media.
  2. Yep Dakich would have had a bigger field day than he already did. Apparently, he posted a tweet saying Romeo should have been top 5 but dropped to 14 because of IU....something to that effect and then deleted it right afterwards. The trolling would have been unreal. Funny Alford didn't really help Wilkes stock at all the guy Dan wanted so badly here.
  3. The rules are still incredibly ambiguous and ever changing. In summary, here it is. I believe it also pertains to kids that did hire an agent and were invited to the NBA combine. It will be interesting to see how many kids take advantage of it. Draft: Eligible athletes can return for college play if they notify their athletics director of their intent to do so by 5 p.m. the Monday following the draft. Officials said they anticipate a small number of players would actually take advantage of the new draft rules, but they are unsure of how many yet. Generally, players who are undrafted are unable to return to college play; many go on to play for the NBA’s minor league or overseas. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2018/08/09/new-ncaa-rules-allow-mens-basketball-players-have-agents-return-college-if-undrafted
  4. So many guys entered this draft and went undrafted. Doubt any develop when another year of college could have helped at least half of these guys. Glad they will be changing the rules soon. The list of undrafted underclassmen: Lungentz Dort, Jalen Lecque, Jontay Porter, Louis King, Zach Norvell, Dedrick Lawson, Naz Reid, Simmi Shittu, Kenny Wooten, Kris Wilkes...plenty more just some of the more recognizable recruits and names to this board.
  5. How about the fact we only seem in on one top 50 kid? Again, not all about rankings but its just surprising.
  6. New Rivals rankings out: https://n.rivals.com/prospect_rankings/rivals150/2020 #79 Matt Cross # 104 RJ Davis #112 Anthony Leal (down 22 spots) Galloway - NR #38 - Dawson Garcia #69 - Zach Loveday (down 15 spots) Rankings don't mean everything but this is pretty underwhelming...hope again that we can grab another grad transfer guard or pull a rabbit out of a hat somewhere.
  7. Rich get richer. KU adds Mich recruit Jalin Wilson https://www.mlive.com/wolverines/2019/06/former-michigan-basketball-signee-jalen-wilson-chooses-kansas.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wolverines_sf They and UK are absolutely loaded with Mich St. bringing back quite a bit of talent as well.
  8. With all the grad transfer options out there this just seems silly.
  9. Kansas really needs this kid. They have struck out on some big names like us. Don't be surprised if Adidas comes to the rescue and packages him and Hampton to Kansas. Will Wade gets back on the money saddle and reigns in Watford today. Let the widespread cheating continue!
  10. Yes, he's barely been at the school already is bringing in the 1 class. Sounds a lot like Will Wade last year and we all know now how that was possible. The AD's timing on resigning was weird and we know Penny knows the AAU circle really well since he came from there. A lot of dirtiness in the air.
  11. There's a disturbing trend with these kids waiting so long these days. Its not just the dominoes of who stays/who goes to the draft. I really think it is also the changing landscape of college bball where kids are waiting for the 'best offer and there is a lot of back and forth on that front. I completely agree who would want to play for a guy who almost just got fired and basically admitted on wiretap to being heavily involved in swinging deals. The list of Memphis, LSU, Bama...just feels dirty.
  12. Its been heavily weighted to LSU since Wade has been back in the fold. 94% to LSU since Memphis started targeting other guys. From everything out there it seems 1) LSU 2) Bama 3) IU
  13. True but it seemingly so far has had the opposite effect. The guy jumping, Beilein, seemed be all accounts to be one of the cleaner guys and was tired of the cheating landscape. NCAA seems content with letting this stuff fly hence Wade getting his job back at LSU and nothing happening.
  14. That rumor has been swirling for a couple years now. Who knows when Pop will actually step down. KU could be really good next year if they land Hampton and Wilson and get Grimes/Dotson back.
  15. Also, UNC adding 2 grad transfers this year. If you can't bring in 5 top 20 kids like Duke this seems to be the next best route. We aren't really doing either and with such a need for another shooter it's tough to watch.
  16. And you guys wonder how a team like Texas Tech has been able to elevate their program so quickly and remain consistent despite being Texas Tech. Yes, they got a very good coach but grad transfers were key to their title run this year. Oh they also have two important grad transfers coming in again. Bottom line: Adjust accordingly or play from a disadvantage. https://sportsday.dallasnews.com/college-sports/collegesports/2019/05/15/texas-tech-picks-second-graduate-transfer-versatile-former-virginia-tech-swingman-chris-clarke
  17. He only visited three schools and one was IU. I'm not sure this statement is true.
  18. He also had to replace a ton last year (lost 4 starters) and we all know how that turned out. I believe he just added one of Brad Stephens assistants from the Celtics. If anything it seems like Purdue is capitalizing on their momentum the last few years while we are kind of trending in the opposite direction. I wish IU basketball could be as consistent as the baseball team. With our facilities, tradition, etc...you would think that shouldn't be too hard to ask...
  19. That reaction sure seemed like the typical one for an achilles tear...feels like someone clubs you in the back of the foot when you do it. I guess best case is its some kind of calf tear. Either way he's probably done for the playoffs.
  20. Yes, pretty sure we will be back at square one on May 10th. This kid has Memphis written all over him.
  21. It was another recruit that didn't pick IU. I also think Trendon Watford made a comment as well about it.
  22. Yep, sadly I think the same. It feels like Quinones wants to create some buzz for his decision so really propped up IU on social media. There's still a chance but it would help greatly if Ellis/Hampton jump at Memphis soon. Otherwise, we will be back at square 1 looking for shooting in the 2019 class.
  23. Someone who appears to be a source on the Memphis board said that Watford is between LSU and Bama but considered a Bama lean. Also, said Memphis is in great shape with Hampton and Quinones is a lock to Memphis from everything they have heard. As usual, take it for what it is worth but the appear to think Watford is out. I believe it is coming from one of the GoTigers247 guys. This is before the Boogie Ellis decommitment as well.
  24. News just broke of RJ Hampton reclassifying to 2019 and being a top Memphis target. I think that absolutely changes things since he is the same position as Quinones. The fact Archie is going to see him later this week shows he really wants him. I think we are right there with Memphis if not in better shape if they put all of their eggs in the Hampton basket.
  25. Yeah the timing of this plus Archie's in home visit definitely ups our odds quite a bit imo.
