  1. You're right...perfection doesn't exist. There are pros and cons to everyone. I personally feel that the issues you bring up are cert minimal when compared to everything else he brings.
  2. I think it's because he doesn't want the topic of Brad Stevens to continue to dominate the conversations. He doesn't have any info on Stevens so he needs to be able to talk about other possibilities....otherwise the conversations will be short with little information shared.
  3. I'm not hung up on it either...just having some fun with words and made-up or precieved intent. Coaching searches are fun!
  4. All this time we've been worried about the wrong word in the Goodman statement. He's not "a" candidate because he is "the" candidate....how subtle.
  5. Tony tells stories of myth and legend....
  6. I would be excited for all those guys. You are right though, there would be a letdown for a day or two. Then people will get behind the new guy...
  7. I believe that no one knows anything definitive at this point. To me, there hasn't been enough hard evidence either way to make a call on if he is the guy or not. What I also believe is that it is WAY easier, if you run a web-based opperation that is dependent on you being correct on your predictions, to flatout say that Stevens is not coming to IU. None of these guys that make their living off of their predictions can afford to be wrong if they say he's coming and he doesn't. They CAN, however, get away with it and absorb it, if they say he's not coming, and then he does...
  8. I believe in fairytales...
  9. Perfect! I'm glad there might be some stability in upper management with the loss of Stevens.[emoji4] ....I know you are being super realistic with everything you're saying. But I want to believe IU is allowed to have nice things now.
  10. So you're saying he initially turned down the Celtics to eventually take the job later....[emoji4] . That's a relief....
  11. You were there for the family vote? You should have asked if your vote counts....
  12. There was this one time, I told everyone at work and anyone that asked me, that I was happy with the organization I worked for and the one thing I love the most was the people I worked with. I said all of this while I was working on getting another job somewhere else... The only quoted statement we've seen means absolutely nothing... It's Stevens till it's not for me. But I'll be happy to watch some good basketball next season even if it ends up being someone else.
  13. He's totally going to come on here and move the goal post before Saturday...
  14. You win the night with that one....
  15. This is not directed towards the mods....
  16. I'd like to get back to having fun reading posts about IU basketball....for any of you wanting to police the functioning of the board, please go apply for a job in the athletic compliance office and use your talents for something more important than a free message board.
  17. He didn't say anything about agreeing with group think... You were complaining about how the mods police the board, and he simply told you to take a hike if you don't like how it's managed. The mods are super open to disagreements during my experience here...
  18. Just so everyone knows, I'm thinking about starting a thread to discuss off-topic posts in threads and how annoying they are....
  19. The crazy thing is....there are people that would be upset with hiring Brad Stevens because he hasn't been coaching for a while, and he forgot how to do it...
  20. March 2nd....don't you remember?
  21. But it is a coaching candidate thread...
  22. I'm personally looking forward to his next update...I find it fairly entertaining.
  23. I don't disagree. Plus, I don't think IU would protect him like Kansas has done from a compliance standpoint, and he knows that.
  24. No....sounds like most would rather have Cryin Cronin...
  25. I don't know...I feel like you gain nothing by calling the fans out. You say thing like "our fans have the same expectations we do, to win and finish games, and we didn't do that today" or "we need to continue to keep our intensity high so that our fans keep their energy high." It's almost like you have to coach the fans by telling them what you expect out of your team.
