  1. But Will Wade was his brother's coach at LSU....
  2. Tears is what would result...he would be awful.
  3. Yes...I like this. He would be a fine assistant. However, that's not possible because Shrewsbury also enjoys who he works with. We are looking for a coach who currently despises his current employer and coworkers.
  4. That's if the admin at Tri North Middle are even open to changing coaches...they probably don't want Turgeon either. That middle school coach will be mentioned as the next IU hire later this evening by someone on this board.
  5. You want McDermott over Stevens?
  6. Then they didn't do their job with MT....he should have been eliminated.
  7. I remember Isaac...he was fun. Always had something positive to say.
  8. This! You know how to enjoy a message board. Finally....thank you for this.
  9. Do you sell most of your homes in West Lafayette when you go up for Purdue home games?
  10. Me too...its crazy how that not an actual reason to not consider an opportunity.
  11. Stevens said he likes who he works with. If you like who you currently work with you are no longer in the running for the job.
  12. But you can...not everyone follows what they sign. However, having an NDA would definitely slow the flow of information.
  13. Plus, continuing to vet others gives the vague/lame statement that Goodman put out there more teeth than it should have.
  14. Sunshine pumper told me $11 million is too much....
  15. He was an assistant at Duke for 13 years....I'm sure he's recruited and coached a few players that fall into the categories you mentioned.
  16. I agree, but it's all about putting the team in the best position to compete in March. Talent matters, work ethic matters, drive and focus matter. A lot of things have to fall into place for any kind of run in March, but having high-level talent makes it easier to get there.
  17. I just said if that's what it takes. I didn't do a market analysis on head coaching salaries. But if IU wants to be taken seriously anytime soon, this hire needs to make a splash. The top tier come from a group of coaches that you and a few others have no interest in discussing anymore on here....so I won't entertain with a list.
  18. We should if that's what it takes to go top tier.
  19. I would argue that the strategy you mentioned to start may work better than what IU has done the last 2 hiring cycles...they should go flash that $11 million per year to more than one person.
  20. You didn't used to be such a downer on the possibilities....still don't see the sunshine..
  21. I understand what you are saying here but this is why from the outside looking in, people think our fanbase is crazy. We talk ourselves into questioning even Billy Donovan as a candidate good enough for our coveted position....ugh
  22. You have to be around the leaks, or observe something related to the leaks to know there is a leak. The only way to know if your neighbor has a leak in their house is if they tell you or if you see the plumber's van in the driveway.
  23. A coach hasn't been announced because one was hired and said that he doesn't want it to get out until IU's season is over, not because IU is doing Woodson a favor. Well that was easy....anyone else care to make another version of this statement where you have no idea one way or the other if it's true, but act as though it's 100% fact.
  24. Exactly...he probably even said that he likes the people he works with...
  25. It is the easier side of the bet for sure...
