  1. It is interesting. Villanova opens and it's immediately rumored that Collins leads for the job and that there is mutual interest. Crickets about the IU opening except for guessing. No mentions of mutual interest with anyone..
  2. I agree with this. I think it's done or we've moved on. Too little of chatter for me to think it's not already done.
  3. Exactly! Or they say, "I was let down last time, so I'm not going to believe any rumors this time." Why in the world not? If there is a .001% chance he comes here, he is the number one candidate I want to talk about, hear about, and dream about (not in a creepy/weird way) being at IU. We only have a few more days of the search fun so here is to hoping it ends with IU catching the whale.
  4. I find it hilarious how guarded people are about wanting or believing it's Stevens. As if your world ends if it's not him. Come on people, there is nothing wrong with wanting him to come, rooting for it to happen, and believing that it actually might. Yes, you were "hurt" 4 years ago on the info from the insiders not being correct. Who the heck cares? Brad all the way! Let's goooo!
  5. Want to rehash Cronin, Brownell, and Turgeon again? Go for it....
  6. Well if you are, please stay at Clemson.
  7. Now that's what I'm saying!....one of those three and we are ready to roll.
  8. Yes, but there is a long time between now and next October's Hoosier Hysteria. The new coach will have to pretty much replace the entire team. To get a winner year 1, I believe we need a name to get the players in here to compete at a high enough level to win big. I'm not saying anyone has to agree with me, but I think IU has fallen too far down, become a laughing stock amongst the traditional blue bloods...need some name validation with this hire.
  9. I personally would be fine with them, however, I still don't think they make the casual fan excited. We may not be able to get coaches who I think would excite (Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Pearl, Self to a certain degree, etc.). It's just my opinion which doesn't have any influence on the situation whatsoever.
  10. I'd say both. Can't afford to have this much time to find the answer, have plenty of money to work with, and walk out someone that doesn't excited people.
  11. I won't blame the admin for not bringing in Stevens, but I will blame them if they walk out Brownell and act like he's the answer we've been waiting for.
  12. I agree...there are a lot of names that will unite the majority of the fan base, but we need to get a freaking NAME. Gotta make a splash. People bring up Duke, UK, even UL as schools that didn't make a splash hire. We NEED it more than any of them. IU's mediocrity has settled in for too long to make a blah hire.
  13. It doesn't have to be Stevens....but it needs to be someone of that caliber to not be a disappointment. It just is what it is....everyone wants IU to be GREAT yesterday.
  14. Getting Donovan would have a very similar impact that Stevens would have. IU's relevancy and credibility would skyrocket with either.
  15. What happened to that feeling it was a "good day" Nappy Roots style....
  16. Just go with it...its 1000 times better than talking about and thinking about Brownell coaching at IU.
  17. Yeah...Woodsons elevated seat wouldn't have been enough for Thad...
  18. Yeah, but I need one more prophecy from Isaac before that happens....
  19. I'm not sure what is going on, but I feel like people are going to start breaking out the poems again...
  20. She can't answer those questions while being "careful with her words."
  21. I get that....however, he was portrayed as a top candidate yesterday and with very little news coming out about the IU job, it looks like he's higher on the list than what is probably reality.
  22. Seriously....if he's not Iowa's #1 why should he be IU's?
