  1. Enright is one of those players that would be on a different B10 team, have a decent stat line for the minutes he plays, and then goes off on IU for 30 points when we play his team. Glad we got him...
  2. I will say...those are not records of a point guard that leads their team to wins.
  3. But is someone tracking their flights/car rides/etc.?
  4. I totally agree! Why on earth would anyone criticize that? He HAS to start forming relationships in the state. That helps with the short term portal moves as well depending on where some targets went to high school. Plus, you're right, cell phones make mobile recruiting possible...just ask Kelvin Sam.....nevermind....
  5. Seems IU's portal interests are more selective and calculated...I like it. I know I was being impatient before, but it's nice to start hearing where we are involved.
  6. The only point I was making is that as these players are announcing that they are going into the portal and a list of schools that have shown interest is published, IU has not been listed on any of them. I guess I'm just not used to that. I honestly don't care when we get players signed if they are the right ones. I mean, Woodson was all over every portal announcement, and that got us nowhere, so I agree that I'll need to show some patience....
  7. Especially with the NIL numbers that are being mentioned for IU. I know this takes a bit of time, but what's even taking his son so long to officially commit? I'm mean, seriously?
  8. Do we plan on poaching players from Duke and every other tournament team still playing? Players are going to the portal, and IU isn't even listed as having interest....
  9. But isn't that what transfer portal discussions are all about? When no movement is occurring with regard to players committing to the program, all that can be done is to speculate. Plus, you're never going to get full consensus on a player that will come off the bench.
  10. I love optimism going into a coaching change. All the tools are there to put a good team together and compete at a high level next season. With the amount of money at CDV's disposal he will be able to be strategic with how he goes about building this team. I am excited to see how it works out. But losses are not acceptable.... 37-0 is a must...
  11. Never said he didn't have a place, never said I didn't want him. He's just not thay exciting. There are lots of players on every team that aren't exciting. Admittedly, I am not a coach and I have never built a championship team, so my input is useless. However, I am a fan and like to watch. I can absolutely be won over on him once he starts playing for IU....if he sees the floor
  12. I'm just wait and see on him. He is definitely the type of player that would destroy us for his career high if IU played against him...and then as soon as he has Indiana across his chest he's as mediocre as they come. Yes, things can and probably will be different with CDV, with how he utilizes players and their skill sets, but I'm not excited about Enright yet....but I could get there.
  13. I just think we are going down the road of absolutely destroying the off-season. We have won 25 straight off-season championships.
  14. People have been comparing him to Leal....Leal just now got some starter minutes this year at the end of his career. If Carlyle would have been good at all, their min would have been reversed.

  16. I agree with what you are saying. Before NIL, you could take guys like this and not think much of it. He would just be taking a scholarship, may not see the floor, but would probably help out in practice. Now, even the practice players are getting a piece of the pie with regard to NIL and other money. The investment is much higher now even for players 10-15 on the depth chart.
  17. Watched a few interviews and looked up some old tweets. I'm seeing where Chester Frazier has just wanted to move past this EG stuff. The only reason he is seemingly not able to move in from it is because no one will let him. He's mentioned a few times over the years that he would "bump" everyone like that and not just EG. Also, states in an interview a few years ago that he has no ill will towards EG. He sounds like a working professional who is serious about his work. If he wants to come recruit and work for IU, I think it's awesome.
  18. I wasn't even bashing McCollum, just glad we hired CDV and I had people flock to his defense...
  19. No shade thrown....McCollum is good.
  20. I know he's the real deal. I was more talking about how DeVries established Drake to have positive name recognition and draw for players to go there.
  21. I wasn't really referring to staff and/or players. More name recognition and positive draw to the school is what I'm talking about.
  22. Definitely not discounting what McCollum has done with what he has. He just didn't have to build it from nothing. To build something like that it takes planning and deliberate execution of those plans. I like that we have a guy that has shown the ability to do that.
  23. If I could "like" this 1 million times I would...
  24. I'm glad we got the guy that built Drake into what it is today, instead of the guy that continued that success. Nothing against McCollum, but DeVries had the harder job making something out of nothing....
  25. I think the statement by Dolson in the press conference about "wanting to be here" and "recruiting us as well" was communicating that there were people that said no and I don't think Dolson liked how or when they said no. It was almost like a pointed statement.
