  1. It sure does. It's weird too, because, at the very least, it feels like CDV will bring us back to the basics with regard to the fundamentals of the game. It's almost like the past 2-3 coaches made the game and the job too complicated...
  2. I like CDV....but how about bringing them all together with CDDDVRock
  3. Many say that Woodson thinks he did a good job. I was thinking that maybe he thinks this because he was actually running things like he ran his NBA teams. Maybe he has always delegated tasks to everyone else and he just ran the team for games. Obviously this is not the way to run a college program, but maybe he was less lazy and more just stubborn to run it his way....or maybe both. I'm just glad we have a new coach that seems like he's going to work his tail off to make each season a success.
  4. Not a huge Gary Parrish fan but he does a nice job with his commentary here about CDD...https://youtu.be/m_YzztT_kNU?si=nVoRtqeajNziRkzC
  5. Yeah, I'm in....I'm excited to see where he goes with his staff and the portal. I've had such a "blah" feeling about everything surrounding IU basketball, that I had forgotten what it felt like to anticipate good times ahead.
  6. I thought we needed a big name coach for this hire. I thought for IU to be relevant again we NEEDED someone to wow the general public. Stevens, Donovan, Wright, Peral, any of them would have done. I was disappointed when I found out who it was. I started to do research on CDD, listened to him in the press conference, and found out...I was wrong.
  7. If Chester Frasier comes here as an assistant, we need to make sure Eric Gordon is at that first game to greet him at half court. Would love to see the reaction from Illinois fans as they disown CF...
  8. Should someone start tracking flights?
  9. When people go on rants like this about Chris007 and RoadToZion it just comes across as a lecture in what and who to believe. Neither of those two said they were getting first hand information from Dolson, or that they are the credible source. Heck, Chris007 stated on many occasions that he might even be getting smokescreen information. It seems like those that don't believe what these guys say or said put more stock into the information than those that were having fun getting all the rumors.
  10. 1000%...just go get player that want to work and work freaking hard.
  11. He might actually be someone to bring the fan base and even former players together. There was always those fans and former player that wanted an IU guy. IU tried it with Woody, yet fans and former players were still divided. Now we have a guy that comes from the outside of the IU history, doesn't have favoritism bias toward this former championship team, or that era of players. No, we have just a dude coaching basketball and embracing anyone that want to come along for the ride....
  12. I'm interested to see how he rounds out his staff. I liked what he said about getting people on board that are all going in the same direction from top to bottom. That is sooooooo important!
  13. I liked what he had to say. He definitely WANTS to be at IU. We now have a motivated coach that has a deliberate plan on how he wants to build this. That is a HUGE upgrade from the last 8 years. Crean was the last coach that even appeared to have a plan or a clue on how to build success. Crean just couldn't sustain it...
  14. Same here...if he can win right away he will become what we wanted it all the other candidates mentioned. Then we lock him up like the other schools have locked their guy up from leaving. He's young and from the Midwest. If he's super excited to be here, we should give him a chance to get it right.
  15. It will be fine. You're not wrong that we are outdated, old, forgotten, and irrelevant. That is what losing for this long and making bad hires along the way does to a program. Big names don't want to come here. I am hopeful that IU can get back to the basics with CDD. If he can win from the get go all is well. We needed an enormous upgrade in the team culture department. If CDD instills a good culture and play winning basketball, he has all the tools to be super successful. I'm liking the hire more as I watch stuff on him.
  16. Yep....no one wanted the job but this guy. I guess we should thank him.
  17. Can I add value the basketball, make free throws, and play gritty defense?
  18. Player payroll was extremely different I would imagine...
  19. I would like for his first request of Dolson to go like this "I went from Drake, and Adidas school, to WVU, a nike school. Adidas freaking sucks...we need to change this immediately." He will then win me over for life.
  20. Alright....I'm over it. Let's see what he can do. Might be fun to watch him build it into something again.
  21. So when Dolson introduces DeVries, is he going to talk about expectations of competing for championships and blah, blah, blah? If so, and after 3 years, we have gone .500 in the Big Ten each season with 1 tournament appearance, are we going to give him a 4th year?
  22. He will have to win to prove we are a serious basketball program....this hire alone does not communicate that.
  23. I will watch how this goes with Devries but it's got an Archie feel to it. I'm bummed where the program has gotten. Our chance to hire a big time coach, and we didn't, was when we hired KS. What happened after that has led to IU not being a serious basketball school anymore. We will have to see if Devries can win enough to show we are serious, but on the surface, this hire does nothing for me with respect to feeling good about the state of IU basketball.
  24. Well, call me skeptical...I'm not buying it.
  25. It says targeting.....that's a fancy way to say "top candidate" which no one has been correct on this entire search.
