Haha that’s funny. I’m yea opposite. I think McCollum can obviously coach defense but the offense gives me pause. I’ve watched 3 games now and the offense is very paint heavy which is fine but only 2 ppl made a 3 for them last game which I’m not sure would work in the big 10

Needs some more variety in their offense. K state looks like they’ve figured out the high pick and roll every possession and DHOs. Only one person has made a 3 for them also and number 4 being a worse version of Ben Simmons is hurting a lot

I’d be curious what his offense looks like with better athletes and shooters. They have great spacing

Drake is very well coached. Always in the right positions defensively, no offensive rebounds given up, and they run their stuff offensively.

McNeely is being used in so many different ways this game. He made the right decision

Maybe i caught a bad game but this second half offense has been gross. Only 14 3s and the snails pace would have me doing too much projection to feel comfortable. Even just comparing him to like Bucky McMillan at least i know Bucky has the right idea for offense

Does Brad want to be our basketball gm also as a second job lol? I think the odds of him leaving the cushiest job in basketball right now is probably 0%. Its fun to think about but president of what is looking like the best team in basketball for the next five years is much nicer than having. to go recruit college kids.

They’re 333 in pace. He’s obviously a great coach but that feels like such a disadvantage in todays day and age.

Scott if you’re reading this find a coach that has shown the ability to a coach a top 20 kenpom offense and top 40 defense. That’s what you need to win a title. Recruiting takes care of itself with NIL. Mark pope had that and is killing it. Dusty had that. Archie was never close and we saw that. I’m not really sure who has that right now since the season is so early but that’s what you should be looking for.

Is there any chance dusty has such a love for his alma mater and wants more than anything to return us to greatness after a year at Michigan or should I give up hope?

I hope Dolson is allowed to take a shot on multiple coaches this time if that’s the case. That’s not a real coaching search since the chances of Steven’s leaving was 1%

I love TJ O but coaches don’t leave successful power 5 conferences like they used to. I think we have to shoot for an up and comer or someone like Dusty that is from IU.

Annoyed we didn’t do this last year since we had a clear plan B in Dusty if we struck out on the Pearls of the world. I’m not seeing that plan B this year and even getting Dusty now would be unlikely

Idk if it makes you feel better but I know Kentucky and Louisville went through multiple coaching options before they landed on their final one and they turned out ok replacing the majority of their teams. Michigan was relatively late in the cycle i think also. There’s so many players in the portal that all it takes is a good coach to identify what he wants and go after it quickly.
